Abstract: An optical position-measuring device is arranged for recording the relative position of a scanning unit and a scale movable to it in at least one measuring direction. The scale is configured as a combined unit which includes at least one reflector element as well as a measuring graduation. A light source and one or more detector elements are assigned to the scanning unit. The scanning unit includes splitting device(s) which split the beam of rays, emitted by the light source, into at least two partial beams of rays in the measuring direction, which after being split, propagate in the direction of the scale.
Abstract: A support for an airbag housing of a motor vehicle, in particular for a knee airbag housing, has a support strut which is connected to the airbag housing. The support strut is mounted in a carrying frame of the vehicle by at least one elastic element. As a result of the mounting of the support strut by way of the elastic element, connecting elements, for example screws, can be dispensed with and noise generation is prevented.
Abstract: A bumper has a crossmember (2) on which at least one protection element (8) is fit. To reduce the development and/or production costs of motor vehicles in different countries, the bumper has at least one clearance (6,7) and at least one additional protection element (11,12) can be arranged in the clearance (6,7) if needed to meet the safety requirements of a particular country. The design and size of the additional protection element (11,12) are matched to the clearance (6,7).

Abstract: A motor vehicle is proposed having a ride level control device with a pneumatic lift system , with a ride level control unit, to which the operating parameters of the motor vehicle which are detected by sensors are fed. The ride level control unit is active if the ignition of the motor vehicle is switched on. Furthermore, when various conditions are met, the ride level control unit outputs a signal to the lift system so that the motor vehicle is raised. A bidirectional connection is present between the ride level control unit and the lift system in order to transmit feedback from the lift system to the ride level control unit.

Abstract: A cover of a headlight cleaning system, which cover covers an opening in a vehicle front-end part and at the same time bears the headlight cleaning system, can be positioned precisely via latching mounts on the vehicle front-end part and latching lugs on the opposite cover. Abstract: A motor vehicle has a rear axle cross member, from which two diagonal struts project forward in a V-shape, which diagonal struts are connected with their front end in each case to a vehicle longitudinal member. Here, it is important that an annular, closed stiffening structure is provided behind the rear axle cross member as viewed in the direction of travel. The stiffening structure is supported with its front end on the rear axle cross member and with its rear end, via struts which project rearward in a V-shape, on rear vehicle longitudinal members.

Abstract: In a method for detecting near-surface defects in a test sample consisting at least partly of a ferromagnetic material, a test volume of the test sample is magnetized and scanned for the detection of magnetic leakage fields caused by defects. The test volume is magnetized by means of a magnetic constant field and simultaneously by means of a magnetic alternating field superposed on the constant field. Leakage field test devices suitable for carrying out the method are described.
