Abstract: A position-measuring device is used for measuring the position of an object relative to a tool, the tool having a tool center point. The position-measuring device includes at least two intersected scales displaceable relative to each other in at least one plane of movement, and an assigned optical scanning unit which generates position signals for at least one measuring direction parallel to the plane of movement. Each scale has a neutral pivot, about which a tilt of the respective scale causes no change of the detected position. The scanning optics ensure that the position of the neutral pivots of the two scales correspond. The positioning of the scales relative to the tool center point ensures that the neutral pivots of the two scales and the tool center point lie in a plane which is parallel to the plane of movement.
Abstract: A mixing machine 1 includes a mixing head 3 displayed with one or several elements 12 for connecting the same to a container 5 containing a mix to form a closed mixing receptacle containing the mix. The mixing head 3 is mounted pivotably facing a frame 2 in such a way that the mixing receptacle formed from mixing head 3 and container 5 is pivotable to execute the mixing process. The mixing machine 1 further includes a device for producing a mix stream and at least one rotary-driven mixing tool interacting in the mix stream. The mix-stream-producing device is designed to produce a low-energy primary mix-stream as a feed stream for supplying the mix contained in the mixing receptacle to the at least one mixing tool W2 disposed in the mixing head 3 interacting in the primary mix-stream produced by the mix-stream-producing device.
Abstract: A device for absorbing side forces during a side impact of a motor vehicle has a reinforcing structure (12) with a transversely extending reinforcing beam (14). An end (15) of the reinforcing beam (14) is mounted in a bracket (20) that is fixed to the vehicle. A profile part (30) is at the end (15) of the reinforcing beam (14) and supports the reinforcing beam (14). The profile part (30) is connected firmly to the bracket (20) that is fixed to the vehicle thereby providing improved side impact protection and enhanced safety for vehicle occupants.

Abstract: The present invention is related to crystalline forms of ziprasidone and its hydrochloride salt and an amorphous form of ziprasidone hydrochloride and the process for the preparation thereof. The crystalline forms and amorphous form of the invention are suitable for pharmaceutical purposes in the treatment of psychosis. The processes of the invention are simple, non-hazardous and commercially suitable.

Abstract: A rotary encoder includes two component groups arranged in a manner allowing rotation relative to each other about an axis, the first component group having a triggering sensor and a plurality of magnetic sensors. The second component group includes a first magnet, a second magnet, and a third magnet. The component groups are configured such that, in response to a full revolution, the magnetic field of the first magnet and of the third magnet are detectable by the magnetic sensors. Abstract: A process for controlling an electrically driven window pane for a motor vehicle which has an operating element for triggering the pane motion. After the operation of the operating element, the window pane is moved by a driving motor until a soft-stop position is reached, the motion of the driving motor being detected for determining the window pane position. A multiple operation of the operating element within a definable time period causes an overshooting of the soft-stop position to the mechanical stop, in which the position of the pane is newly defined.
Abstract: A body pad for application to the skin for treating an ailment. The pad includes a pad body, a recess in the pad body extending from the outer surface of the pad body toward the inner surface a distance which is less than an overall thickness of the body, and a thin, flexible wall at a bottom of the recess. The wall is adapted to deform outwardly into the recess to provide a cavity between the pad body and the skin for holding a volume of medication which has been pre-applied to the skin. Abstract: A position-measuring device having integrated function testing includes a position-recording unit, a processing unit, and a control-word generator.
