Abstract: A hanger wheel mount wherein the mounting pin includes an annular land for contacting only a portion of the wheels interior surface. The use of the annular land reduces the pull required to move a door suspended by a hanger bracket. The roller or wheel includes an inturned lip which contacts a portion of the pin adjacent the bracket to reduce wheel wobble.
Abstract: A method of molding a flipper link to reduce or eliminate the tendency of the flipper link to break. The method includes the steps of forming a mold cavity for forming a flipper link having a first end portion, a second end portion and an intermediate necked-down portion. The necked-down portion provides an area between the first and second end portions which more easily twists and absorbs the stress exerted on the flipper link during use. Pins are provided in the cavity for forming an aperture in each of the first and second end portions. Plastic material is injected into the cavity at each end of the first and second end portions such that the plastic material flows into the cavity about the pins and the knit line or lines are formed in the flipper link in a location substantially centrally of the necked-down portion to thereby transfer the stress on the flipper link away from the apertures so as to substantially eliminate the tendency of the flipper link to break about the apertures.
Abstract: The present invention relates to management of photoresist-resin-containing waste solution by feeding non-aged waste to a membrane device having a Desal-5 piperazine-based membrane modified to increase MWCO for uncharged organic molecules sufficiently so that, on a weight basis, alkalizing agent passage is greater than 90%, photoresist material rejection is essentially complete, color rejection is greater than 95% and COD rejection is greater than 80% to produce a clean permeate solution that can be recycled and a concentrate to be removed.
Abstract: Fiberballs for filling uses have been prepared from mechanically-crimped fibers having both a primary crimp and a secondary crimp with specific configurations, especially amplitudes and frequencies. The fiberballs may contain a proportion of other fibers, particularly binder fibers.

Abstract: This invention concerns improved processes for the synthesis of H.sub.2 O.sub.2 by means of the electrochemical reduction of oxygen in the presence of acid and halide, preferably bromide, conducted in an electrolytic cell or in the cathode compartment of a fuel cell. The processes described herein permit production of hydrogen peroxide in commercially useful concentrations.
Abstract: A process for producing difluoromaleic anhydride by reacting sulfur trioxide with a fluorinated precursor selected from the group consisting of hexafluoro-2,5-dihydrofuran, hexafluoro-2,5-dihydrothiophene, difluoro-2,5-dihydrothiophene-2,5-dione and tetrafluoro-2,5-dihydrothiophene-2-one. Also disclosed are the compounds difluoro-2,5-dihydrothiophene-2,5-dione and tetrafluoro-2,5-dihydrothiophene-2-one. Difluoromaleic anhydride is useful for example as a component of fluoropolymers.
Abstract: A composition comprising tetrafluoroethylene polymers, selected poly(2,2-dialkylpropiolactones) and particulate carbon, especially conductive carbon. It is useful as a molding compound for making parts, especially for electrical uses.
Abstract: Sampling system and method for obtaining representative samples of aerosols in which the particulate concentration is greater than 10.sup.6 particles/cm.sup.3 comprising a sampling probe which operates in cooperation with a dilution system such that a sample of concentrated aerosol can be taken from the gas stream by the probe and almost simultaneously quenched and diluted to a temperature and concentration, respectively, which is acceptable to conventional measuring instruments.
Abstract: An electrically insulated conductor comprising an electrically conductive element surrounded by ultramicrocellular foamed polymer insulation having a void volume greater than about 75%, wherein the transmission speed of the insulated conductor is greater than 90% of the speed of light. Such insulated conductors are useful in computer and telecommunications applications.
Abstract: The subject invention provides a package for a heat seal sensitive polymer comprising a thermoplastic bag sealed at one end with a thermoplastic polymeric thread, both the thermoplastic bag material and the thermoplastic thread material having a melt temperature at or below the processing temperature of the heat seal sensitive polymer.
Abstract: A copolyadipamide consisting essentially of between about 60 and about 99.5 mole percent hexamethyleneadipamide units and between about 0.5 and 40 mole percent ethyltetramethyleneadipamide units, the copolyamide having an RV greater than about 5, and a melting point of greater than about 220.degree. Abstract: A method and apparatus for deregistering drawn crimped nylon multifilament tow includes the steps of stretching the tow under constant controlled tension at a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the nylon. The apparatus includes means for sensing the tension of the tow between the feed and draw sections of a stretching device and producing a signal representative of the tension sensed and a controller for changing the speed of the draw section actuated by said signal.

Abstract: A broad spectrum bactericide, which is bactericidal to bacteria and yeasts in bactericidal concentrations, is perillyl alcohol. Also a method of killing bacteria includes the treatment of bacteria with bactericidal concentrations of perillyl alcohol. The bacteria are selected from a goup consisting of Staphylococcus, Billus, Enterobacteriaceae, Streptococcus, Xanthomonas, and Mycobacteria. Also yeasts may be killed by treatment thereof with bactericidal concentrations of perillyl alcohol.

Abstract: A method is provided for detecting senile dementia of the Alzheimer's type (SDAT) wherein atrophy of the medial temporal lobe of the brain (for example as determined by CT scan) as indicated by a thickness thereof, at its narrowest point, of 11.5 mm or less represents a positive finding of SDAT. In an extension of such method, atrophy of the medial temporal lobe as described above combined with reduced blood flow in the posterior parietal/superior temporal cortex (for example as determined by SPET), represents a positive finding of SDAT.
Abstract: Solid compositions comprising water degradable oligomers of hydroxyacetic acid and lactic acid having molecular weights of 800-4000 and containing 40-60 mole percent hydroxyacetic acid. The compositions are useful as controlled release agents for chemicals, especially as a toilet bowl cleaning component. Optional ingredients include dyes, fragrances, filler materials, surfactants, algicides, pest control agents, quaternary ammonium salts, and mixtures thereof.
Abstract: A heat transfer device and method may be used to conduct heat from a heat source to a heat sink. The device and method improved thermal conduction in composite material mounting boards for heat generating components. The composite material fibers in the core of the board may be parallel to the mounting surface of the core throughout their length. The device may include at least two thermally conductive wedges embedded in the core for conducting heat into and out of the interior of the core. The wedges may be milled metal that may be mechanically and/or thermally attached to the composite material. The wedges may also be chemically plated to the composite. A plurality of the fibers contact both wedges to conduct heat to a surface adapted to transfer heat to the sink. A method of manufacture of the device provides that cavities for the wedges may be milled in the composite material of the core.
