Abstract: Process for stabilizing the crystalline grain morphology of silver halide grain cores prepared in the presence of a dispersing medium and an aminoazapyridine compound at a pH of 2.5 to 9 and pCl of 0 to 3, at least 50% of the total projected area of the total grain population being noncubic silver halide grain cores and the halide content being at least 50 mole percent chloride, based on total moles of silver precipitated, the improvement wherein after 60% of aqueous silver salt solution based on the total moles of silver precipitated is introduced a second halide salt, e.g., bromide, is added thereby forming on the grain cores a shell of 0.5 to 20 mole % based on the total moles of silver precipitated. The emulsions are useful in X-ray, color separation, inverse transfer films, and "dry-silver" applications, etc.
Abstract: The user terminals linked to the system are provided with a graphics function capable of generating particular non-elementary image components on the screen of each terminal in dependence on respective input commands. The graphic information is supplied to the user terminals in a manner integrated with the telematic services. The information is supplied after the selection of the preselected command from a command menu, and the formulation, still operating by selection, of the whole requirement, the transmission of which enables the system to produce the graphic advertising insertion associated with the retrieval effected. The proposed application has been developed for use in the supply of telematic services such as data banks, Electronic Yellow Pages, home banking, electronic mail and the like.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are electrodepositable cationic baths containing nonionic pigment dispersants. These nonionic pigment dispersants are ethoxylated styrenated phenols which allow for increased production capacity and lower VOC. The ethoxylated styrenated phenols are also used as an additive which can increase film build and improve film smoothness.

Abstract: Methods for rapidly determining the discrete control information to independently propel a plurality of carriages with a synchronous linear motor divided into zones for control are useful for a steady state or a transition operation for a linear motor control system.
Abstract: A substantially twist-free, crimped, continuous, multifilament yarn containing randomly-spaced, tightly entangled nubs and the process and apparatus used for making such yarns is disclosed. The nub yarn is made by feeding a substantially entanglement-free multifilament crimped continuous yarn through a forwarding jet, through an aspirating entanglement jet where nubs are formed and passing the yarn through a loop guide. The nubs of the yarn are less than one inch in length and the yarn is useful in textile and carpet end uses.
Abstract: An improved Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 catalyst composition, prepared by pyrolysis of ammonium dichromate, which contains less than 100 ppm of alkali metal and is useful in HF hydrofluorination reactions.
Abstract: Use of a headbox with an auxiliary blade having a concave edge reduces the deflection required to modify the basis weight profile of a wet sheet formed in papermaking apparatus.
