Abstract: A deep trolling planer and fishing line release devise which is positioned above said planar and secured to the planar with a harness. Said release devise automatically frees a fishing line allowing a fish to be played unencumbered by additional machinery or devises. The planar may then be retrieved independent from said fishing line and reset for further fishing.

Abstract: This invention relates to a novel, high yield process for the preparation of optically active substituted 1,4-diols with a high degree of enantiomeric purity.
Abstract: A composite material useful for controlled generation of heat by absorption of microwave energy is disclosed. The material comprises a dielectric substrate, e.g., polyethylene terephthalate film, coated with a mixture of an electrically conductive metal or metal alloy in flake form in a thermoplastic dielectric matrix, e.g., a polyester copolymer. In a preferred embodiment, the coating of flake/thermoplastic is applied so as to yield an isotropic coating with good heating performance reproducibility. The use of circular flakes with flat surfaces and smooth edges contributes substantially to good heating performance reproducibility.
Abstract: A yarn treating jet is modified to locate a baffle at the outlet end of the jet. The baffle is positioned a fixed distance above the central axis of the jet and away from the outlet end of the jet such that the yarn and air follow the lower surface of the baffle to a point where the yarn leaves the baffle.
Abstract: A process for preparing the superconductive material MBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.x, M being, inter alia, yttrium and x being from about 6.5-7 and a precursor material MBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.y, y being from about 6-6.5, by controlled heating and cooling in a controlled atmosphere.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of a superconductor of the type AB.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.7-x, wherein A is a mixture of rare earths, B is an alkaline earth metal and x is less than one, comprising the treatment of xenotime to obtain a rare earths oxide therefrom and mixing the oxide with an alkaline earth metal compound and a copper compound and heat treating the mixture to obtain the superconductor. The treatment of the xenotime comprising melting the xenotime with a 1:1 mixture of Na.sub.3 CO.sub.3 and K.sub.2 CO.sub.3, dissolving a solid obtained therefrom in HCl, treating the resulting solution with NH.sub.4 OH to precipitate the rare earths, dissolving the precipitate in HCl, treating the resulting solution with H.sub.2 C.sub.2 O.sub.4 to precipitate the rare earths aned calcinating the precipitate to obtain a rare earths oxide.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved reverse osmosis membrane that shows surprisingly improved solute rejection and permeation properties. The membrane includes a separating layer of a polyamideurea formed in situ by reaction of isocyanate-substituted acyl chloride and a diamine-treated microporous substrate.
Abstract: Method of providing an image-bearing surface, e.g., a pre-press proof, with a protective covering, comprising laminating to said surface a thin, substantially transparent integral polymeric film, the improvement wherein the polymeric film consists essentially of a mixture of at least two slightly incompatible polymers, whereby the film exhibits a 20.degree. specular gloss that is at least 5% lower than the gloss of a film prepared from any one of said polymer constituents.
Abstract: The electroluminescent panel is formed by depositing a first high dielectric strength adhesive layer on a transparent conductively coated plastic carrier strip, electrostatically depositing dry phosphor particles onto the first dielectric adhesive layer to form a phosphor particle approximate mono-layer (layer thickness not exceeding largest size particle electrostatically deposited) with particles disposed side-by-side uniformly across the dielectric adhesive layer, curing the dielectric adhesive layer with ultraviolet light through the carrier strip, depositing a second high dielectric constant filler layer on the phosphor particle layer to surround and overcoat the particles and then curing the second dielectric filler layer to embed the phosphor particles in a high dielectric constant matrix. The layers can be applied to and cured on the carrier strip as it continuously moves through a production line. Apparatus for practicing the invention is also disclosed.
Abstract: Known and novel 4-aryl-4-piperidinecarbinols and heterocyclic analogs are useful as analgesics. Also provided are novel pyrrolidinecarbinols and hexhydroazepine carbinols which are useful as analgesics, antidepressants and, in some cases, as anorectic agents.
