Abstract: Incorporation into polyacetal molding compositions of 0.05-3 weight percent of certain non-meltable polymers containing formaldehyde reactive hydroxyl groups, formaldehyde reactive nitrogen groups, or formaldehyde reactive hydroxyl and formaldehyde reactive nitrogen groups, wherein the polymer has an average particle size, both prior to melt processing with the polyacetal and after melt processing with the polyacetal, of less than 10 microns, results in improved thermal stability of such compositions.
Abstract: A system for speeding response time to a telephone request for emergency assistance. The system passively monitors all dialing from the particular premises and responds to dialing of predesignated emergency numbers by activating an indicator such as a strobe light or a flashing lamp visible at some distance from the premises to positively identify the location of the emergency and attract relief personnel arriving into the area.

Abstract: This invention relates to certain heterocyclic sulfonylurea herbicidal compounds, agriculturally suitable compositions thereof and a method of their use.
Abstract: A connector assembly (1,45;2) comprising a plug-in connector (1,45) and a socket connector (2). The plug-in connector (1,45) is provided with a lever-type locking element (5;15;25;40) having two free ends. At one free end an outwardly projecting pawl-type latching element (8;18;28;41) is disposed, while the other free end is designed as a gripping end (5';15';25';40'). The socket connector (2) is provided with a slot-type opening or recess (9), so that when the plug-in connector (1,45) is pushed into and mates with the socket connector (2), the latching element (8;18;28;41) engages the slot-type opening or recess (9), from the inside (2') of the socket connector (2), thereby latching the connectors (1,45;2).

Abstract: Process for purifying TiO.sub.2 ore consisting essentially of subjecting the ore to two or more leaching treatments, said leaching treatments alternating between use of an aqueous solution of a mineral acid and an aqueous solution of an alkali metal compound selected from the group consisting essentially of alkali metal carbonates, hydroxides or mixtures thereof.
Abstract: A housing for interconnecting an opto-electronic device with a ferrule includes a base, a cover cooperable with the base to define a chamber, and a mounting member is characterized by a pivot arrangement disposed on the mounting member and cooperating with at least one of the base or the cover for accommodating pivotal motion of the mounting member to permit the axis of the mounting member to translate in two orthogonal directions in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the chamber and also to permit the top of the mounting member to displace in the perpendicular plane to align the axis of the mounting member collinearly with the axis of the ferrule. The housing also includes an elastomeric board mount disposed in a sealing relationship between the base and the cover when the same are conjoined and arranged to seal legs on a substrate that extend through the elastomeric board mount.

Abstract: A multiplayer surprise action game in the form of a central unit which defines a spiral pathway around its upper portion and a housing for an object-projecting mechanism in its lower portion. The housing has a plurality of openable doorways spaced around it. Each doorway defines a player station. The mechanism is randomly rotated to aim at only one of the doorways at any time, while concealing from the players the doorway at which it is aimed. The players move play pieces along the pathway and manipulate an advancing mechanisn that unpredictably sets off a noise maker after an apparently random time. The players have a chance to prepare, and then they activate the projecting mechanism. The mechanism projects the object (such as a toy snake) outwardly through the doorway at which it is then aimed, to the surprise of and excitement of the players. The particular player station/doorway from which the snake emerges may be used by the players to adjust the further play of the game.

Abstract: The method described coats the interior of a tube-like support with the binding partner of the analyte. Analyte and anti-analyte-label conjugate are added. When the tube-like support is rotated end-over-end, the thin layer of analyte and conjugate readily react with the binding partners to form an immobilized label complex. When rotation stops, the reaction quenches to provide precise timing. The label complex is released and measured.
Abstract: This invention relates to para-aramide particles. More particularly, the invention concerns a process for flash spinning such particles from a mixture of poly(paraphenylene terephthalamide), carbon dioxide and water.
