Abstract: The present invention is a process for transfer of a pattern of material from a donor substrate to a receiver substrate by lamination. The pattern of the transferred material is defined by an aperture in a mask interposed between the donor and receiver during lamination. The technique is compatible with flexible polymer receiver substrates and is useful in fabricating thin film transistors for flexible displays.

Abstract: An appliance for a hotplate has two heating devices installed parallel to one another. With an energy control device and as a function of an angular position, either a first heating device is operated in controlled manner or a second heating device is connected thereto in fixed form. The power of the second heating device is defined so low that no temperature limiter for protecting a glass ceramic plate has to be provided in the control path of the second heating device. On connecting in the second heating device, the controlled power of the first heating device is lowered to an initial value by roughly the amount of the power of the second heating device. The total power results from the summated power of the two heating devices.

Abstract: Aliphatic-aromatic polyetherester compositions, articles made from the aliphatic-aromatic polyetherester compositions, and processes for producing the aliphatic-aromatic polyetherester compositions and articles are provided. Articles that can be made from the aliphatic-aromatic polyetherester compositions include films, coatings and laminates. Some of the compositions and articles are biocompostable. The films can further be used to form shaped articles such as sheets, food packaging such as sandwich wraps, thermoformed containers, and coatings for, for example, films and other substrates. The aliphatic-aromatic polyetheresters are based on copolyesters produced from a mixture of aromatic dicarboxylic acids, aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, poly(alkyene ether) glycols, and glycols.
Abstract: The present invention is directed a computer-implemented method for determining a color matched repair paint formula, wherein color characteristics of a target color to be matched are identified, inputted, and processed in such way as to enable a visual display of the target color, then alternate color(s) is/are selected from a color database based upon color characteristics of the target color to be matched, then subsequently processed and visually displayed thus enabling comparison of the alternate color(s) with the target color; and finally, a desired alternate color is selected and a formulation determined thereof. Further, the target color may be superimposed over an image of a vehicle to be repaired, and alternate candidate may even be superimposed over the target color in the area of the vehicle to be repaired, in order to assist the user with selecting the best match.

The copolyetheresters have desirable thermal properties, and can be used in forming shaped articles, such as films, coatings and laminates. The copolyetheresters are produced from a mixture of aromatic dicarboxylic acids, hydroxyalkanoic acids, a poly(alkylene ether) glycol, a glycol component, optional other glycol, optional branching agents, and optional color reducing agent components. Some of the copolyetheresters are biocompostable.
Abstract: An online system for trading securities is disclosed. The system may include an investor computer, a brokerage computer, and a third party computer, all coupled together by a network. The third party computer responds to investment information requests from the investor computer by providing HTML documents having the desired investment information and a link. The link is a URL address of order software on the brokerage computer, and it includes an indicator of a specific security associated with the investment information. Examples of such securities include stocks, a mutual funds, and options. The link is preferably implemented as a button icon labeled “Trade Now”. When the third party computer is an investment research service, the existence of the Trade Now icon greatly expedites the investor's ordering process by directly retrieving an order form with appropriate fields pre-populated. The investor may be required to enter a password.

Abstract: An operating device for an electrical appliance, for example a cooking appliance, is provided with a deformable metallic control panel, underneath which an electret microphone cartridge is disposed. The membrane of the microphone cartridge can be coupled to the lower side of the control panel by means of an elastomer. When pressure is exerted on the control panel by a user pressing on the operating field and causing it to deflect, the membrane of the electret microphone is moved, which in turn causes movement in the microphone and causes a signal that can be evaluated as the operating input by a user.
