Abstract: Fluorinated carbamoyl sulfides, such as N,N'[thiobis[(methylimino)carbonyloxy]]bis[2,2,2-trifluoroethanimidothioic acid], dimethyl ester, useful for control of insects.
Abstract: A transceiver inserted between a signal source and a two-wire or one-wire line, designed to transmit balanced or unbalanced digital signals to a remote station at the opposite end of the line while receiving similar signals from the latter station, comprises a first and a second amplifier with inputs connected to the line at a proximal and a distal end of a line-terminating impedance, respectively. Each amplifier has an inverting output connected to a noninverting output of the other amplifier, the two nodes formed between the interconnected outputs being connected to respective inputs of a differential third amplifier feeding a signal receiver. The gain of the first amplifier is half that of the second amplifier whereby the locally generated signals are suppressed in the output of the third amplifier. The several amplifiers are realized in integrated circuitry and may be provided with switches for selective changeover between a balanced and an unbalanced mode of operation.

Abstract: Aqueous dispersions of fluorocarbon polymers in combination with the water-borne reaction product of (a) carboxyl-functional polymers, (b) polyepoxides and (c) tertiary amines are provided. Such dispersions can be applied to a variety of substrates by either conventional coating techniques or electrodeposition, and provide coatings that exhibit excellent release properties and high lubricity.
Abstract: Process of preparing light monoolefins by:(a) activating a hydrogen-exchanged aluminosilicate catalyst having a silica to alumina ratio of less than 12 and, optionally, containing added metal cations, by treating with steam at a temperature of at least 400.degree. C., preferably 450.degree. to 520.degree. C.;(b) contacting the steam-activated catalyst in a reaction zone, at a temperature of about 350.degree. to about 600.degree. C., preferably 450.degree. to 520.degree. C., with a gas stream consisting essentially of dimethyl ether or a mixture of methanol and dimethyl ether, as reactant, and sufficient water such that the mole ratio of water to ether in the reaction zone is at least 0.3; at a pressure of about 0.2 to about 30 atmospheres (about 20 to about 3000 kPa), preferably atmospheric pressure (100 kPa), and at a weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) of greater than about 0.5 h.sup.-1, preferably 1 to 150 h.sup.
Abstract: A box connector in which each side wall contains a slot having an insulation piercing contact. One pair of slots in opposite walls are on a different level from a second pair of slots for accommodating two different conductor wires.
Abstract: A sensor for detecting a break in a continuously advancing web. A vacuum tube extends through a plenum in a jet body. Air under pressure is introduced into the plenum and discharges through an annular orifice surrounding the tube onto a flared end. A low pressure switch in communication with the tube senses the absence of a web from its normal path of advance adjacent the flared end.
Abstract: Melt-spinnable, anisotropic melt-forming aromatic polyesters prepared from phenylterephthalic acid or mixtures thereof with terephthalic acid, one or more selected aromatic diols, and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid; and filaments of such polyesters, the tenacity of which filaments can be increased by heat treatment.
Abstract: Ink formulation based on polyvinyl butyral and useful for printing polyvinyl butyral sheeting provides both improved blocking and improved glass adhesion through increased hydroxyl content in the polyvinyl butyral of the ink formulation.

Abstract: The subject invention is a foamable composition based on a blend of a carbon monoxide- or sulfur dioxide-containing ethylene copolymer and a vinyl or vinylidene halide polymer, and the closed-cell foamed article produced therefrom.
Abstract: Certain polyamide molding blends containing carbon black and nigrosine are described which have greater elongation and impact strength than blends of such polyamide and carbon black alone.
Abstract: Ionic copolymers of styrene sulfonic acid and maleic acid improve covering power when added to the gelatin binder employed in medical silver halide X-ray emulsions.
Abstract: An apparatus to recover and restring a broken threadline in a processing multiple running threadlines includes a waste suction device to collect the broken threadline, an interlacing jet to splice the broken threadline onto a running threadline, a forwarding jet to maintain tension on the broken end, a coanda surface at the exit end of the forwarding jet to deflect the broken end into the suction device. While the broken end travels over a notched swing pin to the waste suction device the swing pin is moved to contact the running end which is pulling the broken end spliced to it forward. The action of the swing pin and a pin or cutter blade at the exit of the forwarding jet serves to sever the filaments of the tensioned broken-end threadline which results in a double end running to a sucker gun at the windup. The ends are then separated, placed in the proper guides and restrung.
Abstract: Thick film dielectric compositions suitable for screen-printing comprising a substituted perovskite, an inorganic dopant, and a low temperature-devitrifiable frit or glass. Upon firing the dielectric composition is highly hermetic.
Abstract: Hollow glass bubble-containing aqueous dispersions of tetrafluoroethylene polymer having good shelf life are provided, said dispersions also containing nonionic surfactant and water soluble electrolyte.
Abstract: Novel N-(heterocyclicaminocarbonyl)carbonyl-substituted benzothiophene- and benzofuransulfonamides are useful as herbicides. The invention also includes novel sulfonamides and sulfonyl isocyanates useful in preparing such compounds.
Abstract: Mono- and polyazoformamide, sulfonyl hydrazide, sulfonyl semicarbazide and/or dinitrosomethylene amine compounds act as chemical blowing agents and curatives for carbon monoxide-containing ethylene copolymers.

Abstract: The apparatus includes a spray nozzle having an orifice plate leading to a vertically oriented opening for directing liquid onto a dispersion plate which is disposed below. The dispersion plate is frusto-conically shaped and has a fluted outer periphery for breaking the liquid up into droplets. A central aperture is formed in the dispersion plate leading to a conical dispersion element which has raised projections on its surface for breaking liquid up into droplets. A filter screen can be removably mounted over the top of the orifice plate for filtering debris or the like prior to its entering the nozzle. The apparatus is especially adapted for use in cross flow water cooling towers.
Abstract: This invention relates to a slow start control network which includes a field effect transistor triggered by the voltage across a charging capacitor. The field effect transistor permits current flow through a portion of an associated centrifuge drive motor control arrangement. A supplemental charging current source is provided to assist the charging of the capacitor to the triggering signal level within a predetermined short delay time.
