Abstract: A binary input signal S multiplied by a level-controlling modifier X.sub.n-1 is periodically sampled to determine its amplitude whose value is then differentially combined with a fixed reference value R to produce an error signal. The latter is multiplied by the same modifier X.sub.n-1 and by a fractional coefficient k to yield a corrective value which is then algebraically combined with modifier X.sub.n-1 to produce an updated modifier X.sub.n for the next sampling cycle. To avoid instability, the modified input signal may be subjected to a limitation of its dynamic range before or after sampling. A load to be driven by the input signals may receive the modified signal itself or the modifier used to control its level.

Abstract: A fire-resistant, cellulose insulation and method, the cellulose insulation including a predetermined quantity of talc to impart the desired degree of fire-resistant characteristics to the cellulose. Predetermined quantities of boron compounds can be added with the talc to improve the fire-suppressant characteristics of the insulation. The method includes directing ground cellulose from the primary grinding stage into a surge bin to accommodate metering the talc with the cellulose to thereby assure the appropriate distribution ratio of talc in the cellulose.

Abstract: Polyamide monofilaments containing molybdenum disulfides exhibit outstanding resistance to abrasive forces applied transversely to the longitudinal dimension of the monofilament, making the monofilaments particularly suitable for use in woven papermaking belts.
Abstract: In a polymer finishing vessel of the type described by Pinney in U.S. Pat. No. 3,717,330 the vent opening is shaped so that its lower edge in the lid of vessel is continuously overlapped by the upper surfaces of the co-rotating screw elements within the vessel in each of their revolutions while leaving no part of the agitator tips continuously exposed to the open vent area.
Abstract: A coating composition based on a polysiloxane resin-forming precondensate, an epoxy resin, a fluorocarbon copolymer and a multifunctional amine catalyst provides non-stick coatings that can be cured at low temperatures such as 107.degree. C.
Abstract: A multiplicity of modules slidably engaged by a key and slot assembly to form a connector housing. Each module contains at least two rows of connector blocks containing terminal receiving channels.
Abstract: A process is disclosed for preparing resin extended pigments containing from 10% to 75% and preferably 20% to 50% by weight, based on the amount of pigment and resin present. The crude pigment and resin are comilled, such as in a ball mill, in a manner equivalent to that used to prepare pigmentary grade pigment from crude pigment. Liquids if they are present should not affect the free flowing nature of the mill powder. The resin is a polyolefin or a copolymer of ethylene and up to 25% of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, vinyl acetate, or oxidized ethylene units preferably softening at from 80.degree. to 140.degree. C.
Abstract: A high solids coating composition comprising defined acrylics, polyester, reactive diluent, aminoplast, catalyst and pigment including talc and TiO.sub.2 is particularly suitable for use as an exterior can coating which is baked repetitively to cure multiple ink applications.
Abstract: Dry nonelectroscopic toners comprising pigmented organic resin particles having a size distribution of 0.2 to 30 micrometers, not more than 50 percent of the particles being less than 1 micrometer surface treated with a combination of at least 1% by weight of an antistatic agent and at least 0.5% of a slip agent as described. The preparation of the toners is described. The toners are useful in colr developing positive and negative-working photosensitive elements particularly in an automatic toning machine. Improved clean-up and low stain propensity are achieved.
Abstract: Cross-linked polyvinyl alcohol coated polyester fiber is indigo-dyeable and exhibits wash-down and crocking resistance characteristics similar to indigo-dyed cotton fibers.
Abstract: An improved process for forming relief structures on electrical devices such as capacitors, integrated circuits, printed circuits and semiconductors; a solution of a composition a polymeric heat resistant photopolymerizable composition of a polyamide ester resin containing photopolymerizable groups is applied to substrate such as a coated silicon wafer, which forms the base an electrical device, and is dried to form a film, the film is exposed to radiation through a pattern and photopolymerized; the unexposed and unpolymerized part of the film is dissolved off and the resulting relief structure is converted to a polyimide structure having a sharp definition and good mechanical, chemical and electrical properties; to reduce radiation exposure time and increase the rate of photopolymerization the following constituents are used in the composition:a radiation sensitive polymerizable polyfunctional acrylate compound and a photopolymerization initiator of an aromatic biimidazole.
