Abstract: A four-way distribution valve is provided that allows for efficient filling and drainage of a potable water supply and waste system including a potable water distribution manifold and water filter in a commercial aircraft galley. The water distribution valve includes a cruciform manifold having a filter drain port connected to the water filter, two supply manifold ports connected to the potable water distribution manifold, and a drainage discharge port. A rotary closure element within the cruciform manifold actuates in accordance with four selectable filling and discharge modes for the valve to fill and drain potable water in the potable water supply and waste system. As a result, the valve can be used to fill the potable water supply system with potable water before a flight, and to selectively drain potable water from the potable water distribution manifold, the water filter, or both after a flight, all through the same valve.

Abstract: In an illustrative embodiment, an insert apparatus for creating an attachment point in an aircraft panel includes a flange insert configured for bonding against an inner surface of a skin of the aircraft panel such that a portion of a load from a component mounted to the attachment point is distributed through the skin. The flange insert may include a wide flange, a bore, and a central opening through the wide flange and the bore, and a nut including an enlarged end and a shaft, where the nut is disposed in the central opening of the flange such that the enlarged end is proximate the wide flange and the shaft extends along the bore. Upon bonding to the aircraft panel, the bore may extend from an underside of the wide flange to proximate an outer surface of the skin of the aircraft panel.

Abstract: A flow indicator of a breathing apparatus that indicates a flow of a breathing-gas includes a structure within a conduit for delivering the breathable gas, where the structure undergoes a change as a result of a presence of the breathable gas or a movement of the breathable gas past the structure. The flow indicator also includes a gas flow display that is actuated by the change in the structure to visually indicate a presence or flow of the breathable gas, where the display is powered by the change in the structure without any outside power supply.
Abstract: A foldaway mirror assembly has a support; an arm pivotally connected to the support, a mirror member pivotally connected to the arm, the arm having two portions that are rotatably connected so that the mirror member can be rotated and pivoted, first and second pivot connections connecting the respective support and mirror members to the arm and each comprising a click-stop mechanism for establishing a plurality of firm but movable pivot positions for the arm on the support and for the mirror member on the arm, a non-magnifying mirror on one side of the mirror member, a magnifying mirror on an opposite side of the mirror member, at least one light source mounted to the mirror member for illuminating the mirrors and a power supply in the support and electrically connected to the light source for powering the light source.
Abstract: A Brain-Mobile Interface (BMoI) system is provided. A control circuit is configured to execute a predictive model to generate a defined number of predicted signal features in future time based on a number of signal features extracted from a first type sensory data (e.g., electroencephalogram (EEG) data). A predicted future mental state(s) can thus be generated based on the number of predicted signal features and used to trigger a corresponding action(s) in a BMoI application(s). In a non-limiting example, a second type sensory data (e.g., electrocardiogram (ECG) data) can be used to improve accuracy of the predictive model. By using the predicted signal features to generate the predicted future mental state(s) to control the BMoI application(s), it is possible to duty-cycle the BMoI system to help reduce power consumption and processing latency, thus allowing the BMoI application(s) to operate in real-time with improved accuracy and power consumption.

Abstract: The invention relates to a retaining system for handling substrate stacks, including a retaining surface for retaining a first substrate, and one or more recesses provided relative to the retaining surface, for retaining first magnetic bodies for securing the first substrate relative to a second substrate that is aligned with the first substrate. Second magnetic bodies are applied on a holding side of the second substrate.
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a first substrate, a plurality of sub-pixel structures, a color filter array, and a display layer. The sub-pixel structures are disposed on the first substrate, and each of the sub-pixel structures includes at least two sub-pixel sub-structures. The color filter array is disposed above the sub-pixel structures, and includes a plurality of filter units. The filter units are divided into a plurality of groups having different colors, and the filter units belonging to the groups having different colors are alternately disposed above the sub-pixel structures. Each of the filter units corresponds to the at least two sub-pixel sub-structures of at least one sub-pixel structure, and the at least two sub-pixel sub-structures of the same sub-pixel structure are adapted to be applied different voltages. The display layer is disposed on the sub-pixel structures.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for optimizing purchases of services related to construction sites, comprising: enabling constructors to provide requests that include items and quantities; enabling suppliers to provide offers to at least part of the items in each request; applying a cart comparison algorithm for ranging the cheapest available offers by said suppliers; applying a transportation comparison algorithm for finding the transport cost for each offer; generating range of packages corresponding to the request as provided by a specific constructor, wherein each package may include items from more than one supplier; and upon selecting a package by the constructor, executing an order to each supplier and transportation service that appears in the selected package.
Abstract: Disclosed is a polyolefin resin, a method for preparing the same, and a vehicle rear bumper beam using the same. The polyolefin resin is characterized by being composed of a thermoplastic resin composite including a polymer base including a polypropylene homopolymer, which has a molecular weight distribution of 2 to 10, and a colorant; and a fiber reinforcing material that is impregnated into the polymer base and has a length of 5 to 20 mm, wherein 10 to 50 wt % of the fiber reinforcing material is included with respect to the polyolefin resin. The method is characterized in that a thermoplastic resin composite is formed by impregnating a molten mixture including a polypropylene homopolymer, which has a molecular weight distribution of 2 to 10, and a colorant with a fiber reinforcing material having a length of 5 to 20 mm.
