Abstract: An organic electronic device includes a first electrode layer, an organic resistive layer coupled to the first electrode layer wherein the organic resistive layer defines at least three regions, an organic active layer coupled to the organic resistive layer, and a second electrode layer coupled to the organic active layer. Each of the at least three regions is characterized by one of the plurality of resistances and the plurality of resistances includes at least three discrete resistances that are different from one another. The regions can be fabricated by selectively exposing portions of the organic resistive layer to a chemical, selectively removing portions of the organic resistive layer, or depositing a plurality of blends.
Abstract: An auto-focus lens module that uses electromagnetic force as well as spring force as driving force to control movement of the lens for auto-focusing consists of a rectangular base, two copper plates, an insulation spacer, four magnets, a lens holder, a lens, a coil, a spring, and a rectangular top cover. The lens holder, the lens and the coil form a lens set. The spring is sleeved outside the coil and is elastically supporting between the outer circular flange and the top cover while the four magnets are respectively located outside the spring, on four corners of the rectangular case. Thus the components of the lens module according to the present invention are simplified, the volume of the device is minimized, and the lens holder moves stably for focusing.

Relative movement is triggered by a vehicle rear crash event.
Abstract: An improved child-resistant blister package is provided in which the lidding component includes a tear-resistant nonwoven layer and a barrier layer. The nonwoven layer can be a melt-spun continuous filament nonwoven web or a flash spun plexifilamentary sheet. The lidding component used in peel off-push through blister packages of the invention contains fewer layers and has improved puncture resistance compared to lidding components used in child-resistant packages known in the art. In addition, in peel off-push through and peel-open package designs of the present invention, the lidding peels more cleanly from the blister component compared to packages known in the art which have a tendency to tear during peeling.

Abstract: Processes are provided for depositing multiple color filter materials on a substrate to form color filters. In a first process, the surface characteristic of a substrate is modified by radiation so that a flowable form of a first color filter material will be deposited on a first area, and converted to a non-flowable form. A second color filter material can then be deposited on a second area of the substrate. In a second process, first and second color filter materials are deposited on separate donor sheets and transferred by radiation to separate areas of the substrate. A third process uses flexographic printing to transfer the first and second color filter materials to the substrate.
Abstract: An electro-optic display is produced using a sub-assembly comprising a front sheet, an electro-optic medium; and an adhesive layer. An aperture is formed through the adhesive layer where the adhesive layer is not covered by the electro-optic medium, and the sub-assembly is adhered to a backplane having a co-operating member with the aperture engaged with a co-operating member, thus locating the sub-assembly relative to the backplane. In another form of electro-optic display, a chip extends through an aperture in the electro-optic medium and adhesive layer. In a third form, the aforementioned sub-assembly is secured to a backplane and then a cut is made through both backplane and sub-assembly to provide an aligned edge.

Abstract: A cable comprises at least two cores stranded together, an expanded inner jacket layer, a substantially circular metallic armor partially contacting the inner jacket to form unfilled interstices outside the inner jacket, and a polymeric outer jacket. The expanded inner jacket substantially takes the shape of the periphery of the stranded cores, providing a non-circular cross section for the expanded inner jacket. A method of producing a cable comprises providing at least two cores, expanding a polymeric material, extruding the expanded polymeric material around the cores, and allowing the expanded polymeric material to collapse onto the cores. A substantially circular metallic armor is applied, resulting in a plurality of unfilled voids between the inner jacket and the metallic armor. An outer jacket is extruded on the metallic armor.
