Abstract: In the blank for making the carrier, at least one foldable panel extending from one of the edges of the blank is provided. The panel is of a size and shape sufficient to cover the holes left by cut-outs from the vertical support panels to form dividers, when the panel is folded over onto one of the panels and secured thereto during assembly of the carrier from the blank.
Abstract: There is provided a metallizable alkene or olefin polymer composition. The composition results from the blending of a modifier with an alkene or olefin polymer composition. The modifier is selected from the group consisting of: a maleic anhydride grafted ethylene copolymer, an ethylene copolymer containing acid monomers and/or ester monomers, an acid-grafted propylene copolymer, and a maleic anhydride grafted blend of a propylene copolymer with an ethylene copolymer. The resultant polymeric composition adheres surprisingly well to metal films and particularly well to aluminum film. The resultant composition also has unexpectedly favourable rheology properties making the composition efficient to use in co-extrusion processes. Also provided is a method of preparing the polymer compositions.
Abstract: A catalytic process and a nano material for the conversion of moist carbon dioxide into methanol, propyne and oxygen have been developed. In the process invented, hydrogen is produced from water in a catalytic reaction, when the moist carbon dioxide enters into the catalytic reactor, resulting in C—O and H—OH bond breakage at a relatively low temperature and at atmospheric pressure in a single step using a combination of catalytic materials comprising at least three metals dispersed on a catalyst support, preferably anatase form of titanium dioxide, to induce a multifunctional surface chemical reaction for the production of oxygenated products such as hydrocarbons of different chain lengths.

Abstract: A measurer for measuring a flow rate of a medium which may be multi-component or heterogeneous, independently of the medium, a signal-generating unit generating a transmit signal on the basis of a reference signal of a signal generator and transmitting same by means of a stimulator via the flowing medium. This signal is received by a sensor and passed on to an evaluating unit which is implemented to determine a signal transfer time based on a plurality of mutually corresponding locations of a waveform of the receive signal and the waveform corresponding to the reference signal and the flow rate of the medium based on the signal transfer time and the certain distance between the stimulator and the sensor.

Abstract: A molded cementitious architectural product for use in building construction has a cementitious body made of a molded cementitious material, the surface of which is polished (i.e., burnished) to better resemble natural stone. The polished surface is formed by exposing a portion of the molded cementitious material while in a green condition, more particularly after initial set but before final hardening of the hydraulic cement binder, and burnishing the surface before final hardening. Burnishing the surface of the green cementitious material before final hardening aligns the cement particles at the surface and seals the surface. The inclusion of an organic polymer binder within the cementitious material, such as an acrylic or latex polymer, assists in creating a polished surface resembling natural polished stone. The extent of cement hydration may be determined by monitoring the temperature of the cementitious material within the mold.

Abstract: Sulfonated aliphatic-aromatic polyester compositions having improved thermal properties, and articles such as films, coatings and laminates, produced from the sulfonated aliphatic-aromatic polyester compositions, are provided. Some of the films are biocompostable. Films made from the sulfonated aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters can be used to make shaped articles, such as sheets, thermoformed containers, and coatings for, for example, films and other substrates. The sulfonated aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters are produced from a mixture of aromatic dicarboxylic acids, aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, certain glycols, and components containing alkali metal or alkaline earth metal sulfonate groups, such as a metal 5-sulfoisophthalic acid derivative.

Abstract: An electro-optic display is driven using a plurality of different drive schemes. The waveforms of the drive schemes are chosen such that the absolute value of the net impulse applied to a pixel for all homogeneous and heterogeneous irreducible loops divided by the number of transitions in the loop is less than about 20 percent of the characteristic impulse (i.e., the average of the absolute values of the impulses required to drive a pixel between its two extreme optical states).
Abstract: An insulating label stock or sleeve formed from such label stock includes a thermal insulating layer, which may a fiberfill batt. The batt is laminated to at least one layer of heat shrinkable material, such as a film. The insulated packaging material may be coated with a coating material to enhance printing capabilities. The insulating label stock or sleeve is installed around a container, and after being activated by heating, conforms to the contours of the container. The insulating label stock retains its hot and cold insulative properties after being heat-shrunk.

Abstract: An aircraft vent door system includes a vent door for a vent on an aircraft door. A cam, having a groove, is disposed on the vent door. The system also includes a movement assembly, which includes a roller disposed within the groove, and a lever coupled to the movement assembly. A portion of the lever extends beyond and proximate to the perimeter of the vent door. A second lever may also be attached to the aircraft door. The first lever pivots in response to the movement of the movement assembly, and urges the second lever to pivot. The second lever, in turn, urges the vent door open, thereby overcoming the sticking effect of, for example, built up ice or other obstructions.
