Such low dielectric materials are useful as passivation resist layers in liquid crystal displays, electroluminescent displays, light emitting diodes and semiconductor manufacture.
Abstract: A system and method that facilitates stimulating neural pathways, e.g., muscles and/or associated nerves, of a patient's body for the purpose of therapeutic medical treatment by rehabilitating weakened muscles and using neuroplasticity to retrain sequential muscle movements and/or to provide the ability to directly deliver functional motor movements. Use of the present invention is of particular value for treating a patient following a stroke. More particularly, such systems are characterized by a plurality of discrete devices, preferably battery powered but may alternatively include RF-powered devices as well or in combination, configured for implanting within a patient's body via injection, each device being configured to affect a parameter, e.g., via nerve and/or muscle stimulation and/or to sense a body parameter, e.g., temperature, O2 content, physical position, electrical potential, etc.

The first lens element and the second lens element are both meniscus aspherical lens while a convex surface of the first lens element is on the object side and a convex surface of the second lens is on the image side. The third lens element is an M-shaped aspherical lens whose object side and image side are both M-shaped and a central surface of the optical axis can be a convex surface or a concave surface. A pre-aperture is disposed or a center-aperture is arranged on the optical lens.
Abstract: Video displays using relatively low frame rates of about 10 to about 20 frames per second, but having acceptable video quality are described. The displays may use bistable media, and may be driven such that the medium, when driven, changes its optical properties continuously during the driving of each frame. The displays may use an electro-optic medium such that the frame period is from about 50 to about 200 percent of the switching time of the electro-optic medium at the driving voltage used.

Abstract: A titanium alloy composite material including dispersed carbon fibers coated with a layer containing an element which forms a carbide in reaction with carbon, and the carbide formed thereby, in crystal grains of the titanium alloy. The element which forms a carbide in reaction with carbon is preferably at least one of silicon (Si), chromium (Cr), titanium (Ti), vanadium (V), tantalum (Ta), molybdenum (Mo), zirconium (Zr), boron (B), and calcium (Ca). The carbon fibers are preferably carbon nanotubes, vapor-grown carbon fibers, or a mixture thereof. The titanium alloy composite material has excellent mechanical strength, such as tensile strength, Young's modulus, toughness, and hardness.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of polymer yarns from ultra high molecular weight homopolymers or copolymers, wherein the process includes the following steps: (a) preparing a suspension of a homopolymer or copolymer and a spinning or gelling solvent of a non polar nature at a weight of homopolymer or copolymer to solvent ratio from 2/98 to 30/70, wherein said ultra high molecular weight homopolymer or copolymer is reactor bimodal or multimodal; (b) feeding said homopolymer or copolymer suspension to an extruder; (c) extruding said suspension under gel forming conditions, at a temperature in excess of 150° C., and under inert conditions; (d) spinning the gel obtained from the extrusion so as to obtain non-stretched filaments with diameters of at least 1 mm, at a temperature in excess of 150° C.

Abstract: A carrier blank and method of making a carrier which is highly adaptable for use in different forms with both in-line and right-angle gluers presently in use by many carrier manufacturers. A blank for use with a variety of different right-angle gluers takes advantage of the structure of the carrier which has two separate support panels and receptacles. The parts for the carrier can be formed into a compact lay-out in two parallel arrays on opposite sides of the blank. Cut-outs forming dividers for each of the receptacles are nested and embedded in adjacent parts so as to form integral one-piece dividers. A manufacturer can select among several different blanks available for use on either in-line or right-angle gluers, all for producing essentially the same carrier.
Abstract: This invention relates to a bag filter having a tubular section, one closed end and one open end, the tubular section having a nonwoven felt comprising an intimate fiber blend of 50 to 80 parts by weight meta-aramid fiber and 20 to 50 parts by weight acrylic fiber, based on the total weight of meta-aramid and acrylic fibers in the felt, wherein the acrylic fiber has an equal or lower denier per filament than the meta-aramid fiber.

A lug extends radially from outer surface of the holder and a plurality of axial guide slots are disposed on the lug. A plurality of guide pins corresponding to the guide slots are arranged on the flange. An adhesive is located between the guide pins and the guide slots and spaced apart from the collimator lens.
Abstract: Recombinant constructs useful for reducing the expression of endogenous mRNA and any substantially similar endogenous mRNA are disclosed. In particular, a recombinant construct comprising, inter alia, a suitable nucleic acid sequence and its reverse complement can be used to alter the expression of any homologous, endogenous RNA (i.e., the target RNA) which is in proximity to this suitable nucleic acid sequence.
