Abstract: The present invention provides certain aromatic copolyetheresters that include hydroxyalkanoic acid residues, and processes for making the copolyetheresters, and articles containing the copolyetheresters. The copolyetheresters have desirable thermal properties, and can be used in forming shaped articles, such as films, coatings and laminates. The copolyetheresters are produced from a mixture of aromatic dicarboxylic acids, hydroxyalkanoic acids, a poly(alkylene ether) glycol, a glycol component, optional other glycol, optional branching agents, and optional color reducing agent components. Some of the copolyetheresters are biocompostable.

Abstract: The present invention is a process for transfer of a pattern of material from a donor substrate to a receiver substrate by lamination. The pattern of the transferred material is defined by an aperture in a mask interposed between the donor and receiver during lamination. The technique is compatible with flexible polymer receiver substrates and is useful in fabricating thin film transistors for flexible displays.
Abstract: Electronic commutation device with multiple electrodes to electrocute noxious plants”, the present invention refers to an electro mechanic device, generator of electric discharges to eradicate noxious weeds by using an electrode subdivided into smaller electrodes, called multiple electrodes, whereas each multiple electrode is fed by a tension between 1,000 and 35,000 volts, by an electronic commutation system that alternates periods of conduction and cut of electric energy supply for each multiple electrode, lasting between 0.01 and 2.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to an arrangement relating to a sensor plate for dental X-raying or photographic purposes, wherein the plate (10;10?;10?;10??) for example is of a digital or analogue type and is intended for one-time use or for many-times use. The sensor plate (10;10?;10?;10??) includes or carries elements (30,31;30?,31?;61–64;80–82;90;95) that are intended for engagement with a plate holding element (40) in a number of different positions (A–F). The holding element (40) includes means (51,52;50) for engagement with engagement elements (30,31;30,31?;61–64;80–82;90;95) of the sensor plate.
Abstract: An electro-optic display is driven using a plurality of different drive schemes. The waveforms of the drive schemes are chosen such that the absolute value of the net impulse applied to a pixel for all homogeneous and heterogeneous irreducible loops divided by the number of transitions in the loop is less than about 20 percent of the characteristic impulse (i.e., the average of the absolute values of the impulses required to drive a pixel between its two extreme optical states).
Abstract: A composition and a process for producing the composition are disclosed. The composition comprises an alkoxylated phosphite ester which has the formula of (HO[{CH(R)}mO]n)3P in which each R can be the same or different and can be independently hydrogen or an alkyl group, or combinations of two or more thereof and m is a number from 2 to about 20 and n is a number from 2 to about 20. The process comprises contacting a trialkyl phosphite with an alkylene glycol or polyalkylene glycol to produce a mixture followed by heating the mixture. Also disclosed in a process for using the composition, which comprises contacting a carbonyl compound, in the presence of the composition, with an alcohol.
Abstract: A process for reducing the level of perfluoroalkanoic acids, perfluoroalkanoic esters, and perfluoroalkyliodides in fluorinated alcohols comprising heating a fluorinated alcohol, or mixtures thereof, containing said acids, esters, or iodides to a temperature of at least 175° C. in the presence of water and a base additive is disclosed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a revolving gear consisting of a housing (G), a shaft (W), an intermediate member (Z) and an output member (A). The shaft is revolvably guided in the housing in a rotating joint (wb) and actuates the intermediate member by means of a curved joint (zw). The intermediate member is supported by a curved joint (zg) in the housing and is actively connected to the output member by another curved joint (za). The curved joint between the intermediate member and the housing has a controlling section enabling movement to be transmitted to the output member and a locking section preventing movement from being transmitted to the output member. The output member is unequivocally guided in the housing and transmits movement to at least one valve (V).
