Abstract: A method of treating a fabric or fabric blend to impart soil release properties is disclosed comprising application to the surface of the fabric or fabric blend of a copolymer composition comprising three monomers copolymerized in certain weight percentages wherein the hydrophilic and oleophobic properties of the treated fabric or fabric blend are varied by varying the relative amounts of the monomers employed.
Abstract: A passenger seat is with a seat back breakover assembly for preventing movement of the seat back unit forwardly past an upright position during normal use and for permitting forward movement of the seat back past an upright position in response to a predetermined abnormal load applied in a forward direction. The breakover assembly includes a controlled deformation member having a bend in one end thereof and positioned intermediate one a section assembly module of the seat and the seat back unit. The bend of the deformation member captures therein an attachment member fixed to and movable forwardly and rearwardly in unison with the seat back unit. An end of the deformation member remote from the bend is restrained for restricted and controlled movement relative to the section assembly module. The deformation member has a resistance to deformation in response to a normal forwardly-applied force sufficient to prevent forward movement of the seat back unit beyond the upright position.

Abstract: A pet bowl having an interior dished portion for receiving pet food, water or the like has a rather large suction cup held centrally to the underside of the pet bowl for securing the bowl to a surface such as a floor. The suction cup underlies at least a major portion of the lateral extent of the dished portion of the bowl, and may be held removably to the pet bowl by a bracket. The surface of the suction cup preferably has upstanding portions to engage the undersurface of the bracket to depress the suction cup assuredly upon downward movement of the bowl. The bracket may have a keyed opening, and a knob with an enlarged end extends upwardly from the suction cup and may be fitted within the keyed opening to hold the suction cup removably to the bracket. Further, a tab may extend from the rim portion of the suction cup to be accessed through an opening in the sidewall of the pet bowl for enabling the rim of the suction cup to be lifted and release the suction cup from the floor.
Abstract: A modulated Class E transmitter is disclosed. In one embodiment of the invention, the modulated Class E oscillator achieves high coil currents (˜1A) and voltages (˜500V) with low power components by precisely timed injection of current when the oscillating current in the inductor passes through zero. A detector circuit is used to trigger the current injection at the appropriate instant regardless of changes in the resonant frequency of the system. Its phase can be adjusted to compensate for propagation delays in the drive circuitry, while amplitude modulation is accomplished by switching in additional reactive conductance to increase the current injected into the tank circuit. Frequency modulation is accomplished in an alternate embodiment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pressing method for obtaining hydraulic cylinders and high-pressure filters, using a semifinished product consisting of a cylindrical part having a blind hole at one end and suitably treated by means of a first chemical surface treatment. The method comprises a first step in which positioning of the semifinished product in a die is performed, followed by a first pressing operation using a first punch acting over part of the depth of said blind hole, so as to define a first machined zone, followed by a second step consisting of first sizing of said first machined zone using a second reverse-profile punch, so as to define a second machined zone. A third step of performing a second chemical surface treatment, followed by a fourth step of pressing of said second machined zone using a third punch, so as to obtain a third machined zone with a desired thickness, and a fifth step of sizing of said third machined zone using a fourth punch, so as to define a flat contact zone.

Abstract: A bandpass radome that reduces the number of spurious resonances, and that tends to suppress Transverse Magnetic TM and Transverse Electric TE surface waves, is described. In one embodiment, the radome includes an inductive FSS ground plane layer. First and second capacitive FSS layers are disposed above the inductive ground plane layer. Third and fourth capacitive FSS layers are disposed below the inductive ground plane layer. In one embodiment, the capacitive FSS layers use patch elements and some or all of the FSS patch elements above and below the inductive ground plane layer are electrically connected to the inductive ground plane layer by a conducting posts. The conducting posts form a rodded medium to suppress TM and TE surface waves. In one embodiment the total thickness of the bandpass radome is less than &lgr;/20 at the center frequency of the passband.
