Patent number: 6954384Abstract: In a semiconductor device having a data input buffer capable of inputting write data to each of memory units, the data input buffer is changed from an inactive state to an active state after the reception of instruction for a write operation effected on the memory unit. The data input buffer is a differential input buffer having interface specs based on SSTL, for example, which is brought to an active state by the turning on of a power switch to thereby cause a through current to flow and receives a signal therein while immediately following a small change in small-amplitude signal. Since the input buffer is brought to the active state only when the write operation's instruction for the memory unit is provided, the data input buffer is rendered inactive in advance, before the instruction for the write operation is provided, whereby wasteful power consumption is reduced.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2002Date of Patent: October 11, 2005Assignees: Renesas Technology Corp., Hitachi Device Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Binhaku Taruishi, Hiroki Miyashita, Ken Shibata, Masashi Horiguchi

Patent number: 6952964Abstract: A method for providing a centering check for a rotating body mounted on a wheel balancer based on measuring at least one imbalance parameter and for determining weight display thresholds for static and dynamic imbalance correction weights which vary with parameters of the wheel and/or tire. The rotating body is mounted on a spindle of the wheel balancer and an imbalance parameter or runout measurement taken. The mounting of the rotating body on the spindle is then altered, and a second measurement of the imbalance parameter or runout is taken. A processor in the wheel balancer determines if the difference between the first and second measurements exceeds a predetermined threshold value, indicative of off-center mounting of the rotating body one the spindle. Upon centered mounting of the rotating body, imbalance measurements are acquired, and required correction weights are displayed to an operator if they exceed an identified imbalance threshold level.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2003Date of Patent: October 11, 2005Assignee: Hunter Engineering CompanyInventors: Michael D. Patent number: 6952166Abstract: Normal hard-wired domestic burglar alarms have cables with six conductors extending between the alarm control panel and each event sensor (such as a PIR). Two of the conductors might provide current to a motion detector, two of the conductors might provide a circuit for a tamper switch, and two of the conductors might provide an indication of the motion detected by the motion detector. Wiring costs are reduced in the present invention by providing only two conductors which work to provide all of the functions of a six-conductor cable. To attach the two-conductor cable to a six-point terminal on the control panel, a special signal accessor and separator circuit is provided with six contacts to attach to the control panel terminals and two terminals for connecting to the conductor cable.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2002Date of Patent: October 4, 2005Assignee: Leeds Electronic Engineering LimitedInventor: John Kam Ho Lee

Publication number: 20050216152Abstract: When the mobile inspection terminal determines that the inspection standard information received from a server is the “specification”, it displays the received inspection standard information and out-of-standard specification information on a liquid crystal display. When it is confirmed in this state that selected inspection standard information is input, whether or not an part to be inspected is acceptable is determined based on the inspection standard information, and the server is notified of a result of determination. Further, when it is determined that the inspection standard information is the “measured value”, a measured value input screen is displayed on the liquid crystal display. When it is confirmed in this state that a measured value is input, whether or not the part to be inspected is acceptable or not is determined based on the input information, and the server is notified of a result of determination.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2005Publication date: September 29, 2005Applicants: Mitsubishi Jidosha Engineering Kabushiki Kaisha, Mitsubishi Jidosha Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tomohiro Tsubota, Norichika Kimura, Shigeo Kambe

Patent number: 6949925Abstract: A sensor device includes the ability to determine part presence and at least one physical characteristic of the part. A drive coil and sense coil are arranged so that a voltage applied across the drive coil causes a response in the sense coil, which is influenced by the presence of the item of interest. In a first mode, a controller determines whether the item is present by determining an amount of coupling between the drive coil and the sense coil, which is indicative of whether a part is present near the sense coil. In a second mode, the controller determines an amount of magnetic flux that is indicative of a thickness of the material. In another mode, constant current applied to the drive coil instigates a voltage across both coils. The amplitude of the sense coil voltage and a phase shift of the sense coil voltage relative to the drive coil voltage provides material thickness information.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2002Date of Patent: September 27, 2005Assignee: Syron Engineering & Manufacturing, LLCInventors: Richard R.
