  • Patent number: 11067148
Abstract: A hydraulic damper includes a piston slidable within a cylinder and dividing the cylinder into first and second chambers and a piston rod for driving the piston, the piston rod including a fluid passageway in fluid communication with the first and second fluid chambers wherein the piston is slidably moveable along the cylinder in compression and rebound, where compression results in fluid flowing through the passageway from the first to the second fluid chamber, and rebound results fluid flowing through the passageway from the second to the first fluid chamber. An adjustment mechanism located within the fluid passageway includes a compression member and a tapered valve head for adjusting the restriction of fluid flow through the passageway when the piston is in compression and a rebound adjustment member and a tapered valve head for adjusting the restriction of fluid flow through the passageway when the piston is in rebound.

  • Patent number: 11067200
Abstract: Self-healing microvalves are described herein. The self-healing microvalve can move from a first position to a second position using an electrical input and use a soft hydraulic assembly to return from the second position to the first position. The electrical input can create an electrostatic attraction, causing the compression of the soft hydraulic assembly and movement of the valve gate to seal the microvalve. The elasticity of the soft hydraulic assembly can then return the self-healing microvalve to the original state, once the electrical input is removed.

  • Patent number: 11059333
Abstract: In various aspects, the performance optimization system described herein optimizes vehicle performance through smart alerts communicated to an operator, owner, or fleet manager of a vehicle. When a vehicle characteristic is outside of the target range, a smart alert can be communicated to the user to encourage the user to bring the vehicle characteristic back into a target range. Aspects of the performance optimization system can focus on tire characteristics, which are one type of vehicle characteristic. Exemplary tire characteristics can include tire pressure, tire tread, and tire alignment. In order to generate smart alerts, vehicle information can be gathered from a variety of sources. In particular, information about a tire can be collected from an onboard tire pressure monitoring system, tire mats, or other mechanisms. This information can be analyzed to determine whether vehicle characteristics are inside or outside of a target range for the particular characteristic.

  • Patent number: 11060040
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for block operation during lubricant and/or fuels production from deasphalted oil. During “block” operation, a deasphalted oil and/or the hydroprocessed effluent from an initial processing stage can be split into a plurality of fractions. The fractions can correspond, for example, to feed fractions suitable for forming a light neutral fraction, a heavy neutral fraction, and a bright stock fraction, or the plurality of fractions can correspond to any other convenient split into separate fractions. The plurality of separate fractions can then be processed separately in the process train (or in the sweet portion of the process train) for forming fuels and/or lubricant base stocks. This can allow for formation of unexpected base stock compositions.
