  • Patent number: 11094663
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for transient liquid-phase bonding between metal materials using a magnetic force. In particular, in the method, a magnetic force is applied to a transient liquid-phase bonding process, thereby shortening a transient liquid-phase bonding time between the metal materials, and obtaining high bonding strength. To this end, an attractive magnetic force is applied to a ferromagnetic base while a repulsive magnetic force is applied to a diamagnetic base, thereby to accelerate diffusion. This may reduce a bonding time during a transient liquid-phase bonding process between two bases and suppress formation of Kirkendall voids and voids and suppress a layered structure of an intermetallic compound, thereby to increase a bonding strength.

  • Patent number: 11093688
Abstract: This document provides systems and methods for altering text presentation to increase reading accuracy, efficiency, and retention. This can include identification text specific attributes from machine readable text (through parsing of the text), varying the text presentation in accordance with the attributes, and creating an enhanced visual product for enhancing the reading experience. For example, a computer system can extract attributes such as parts of speech from an input sentence and display that sentence in cascading text segments down and across a display screen. The system can further use domain-specific dictionaries derived from domain-specific texts to identify domain-specific compound noun phrases and verb phrases that require specific linguistic tagging to be usable in other linguistic analysis steps.

  • Patent number: 11093667
Abstract: The disclosure develops a multi-scale model that partitions the device into different spatial regions where the high carrier domains are treated as reservoirs in local equilibrium and serve as injectors and receptors of carriers into the neighboring reservoirs through tunneling and thermionic emission. The nonequilibrium Green's function (NEGF) formalism is used to compute the dynamics (states) and the kinetics (filling of states) in the entire extended complex device. The local density of states in the whole device is computed quantum mechanically within a multi-band tight binding Hamiltonian. The model results agree with experimental I-V curves quantitatively.

  • Publication number: 20210247290
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, and the like, for a fabrication of a particulate matter (PM) sensor that utilizes a capacitance sensor to detect sub-micrometer and nanoparticles in the respirable range of an environment. In one implementation, the capacitance sensor may comprise interdigitated electrodes between which a capacitance may be measured. PM deposited on the sensor may cause the capacitance between the electrodes to be altered and such a change in capacitance may be measured by the PM sensor. This measurement of the change in capacitance of the interdigitated capacitance sensor may therefore be correlated to the presence of sub-micrometer and nanoparticles in an environment. In one particular implementation, the PM sensor may further include a micro-heater circuit, a readout circuit, and an interface connecting the readout circuit to the micro-heater/capacitance sensor of the PM sensor.
