    Abstract: A control arrangement, especially for use with a track supported implement, having an elongated beam with carriages at the opposite ends supported on respective tracks in which pick-up elements on at least one of the carriages are sensitive to movement of the respective carriage in a horizontal plane and about a vertical axis on the respective track. The pick-up elements are longitudinally spaced on the curve and supply respective signals to a comparator which emits a control signal which varies as the difference between the pick-up signals varies. The control signal is employed for developing an influence on the beam tending to restore it to the condition of parallelism with itself.

    Abstract: An acoustic system for measuring the speed of flow or current speed of a body of water employing a measuring path through the water which extends from one shore to the other in a direction oblique to the direction of flow of the water. A triggerably measuring sound generator positioned on one shore transmits a pulse over the measuring path to a receiver on the other shore. The receiver produces an output which triggers the measuring sound generator to emit a subsequent pulse. A measuring circuit evaluates the resulting pulse repetition frequency of pulses emitted by the sound generator and produces an output proportional to the flow speed of the water.

    Abstract: In a method and apparatus for winding yarn onto a bobbin in a textile machine in a manner to form a reserve winding at one end of the bobbin, the yarn forming the reserve winding is given an accurately determined length by drawing a length of yarn greater than the predetermined length into a suction device before commencing winding of a bobbin and then cutting the yarn at a predetermined point beyond the inlet end of the suction device at a time bearing a fixed relation to the catching of the yarn by a catch element associated with the bobbin. The timing of the cutting operation is controlled by monitoring the instant at which the inlet end of the suction device is moved to a position at which the yarn can be caught by the catch element.

The lower rim of the hood which surrounds the inlet opening for the grab bucket and the upper rim of a chute-like member through which the goods to be transloaded are from the grab bucket passed into a receiver, are flange-shaped and of at least nearly equal circumferential dimensions. If desired, an elastic member, e.g. a sealing ring or an inflatable hose may rest on and be connected to the flange-shaped rim of the chute-like member.
