  • Patent number: 8243625
Abstract: System and method for support multiple topology in Label Distribution Protocol of Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network are disclosed. The system includes a number of network elements and a communication mechanism used to connect the network elements. The network elements discover LDP peers within the network topology, and create and maintain LDP sessions for each of the network topologies. The network elements further establish LSPs by mapping network layer routing information within each network topology to data link layer switches paths. Furthermore, the communication mechanism enables the network elements to advertise the multi-topology capability and exchange the mapping information of label and FECs within each network topology.

  • Patent number: 8243744
Abstract: Sort elements, such as queues processed in a network processor, are provided with relative priorities relative to each other. A set of relative priorities is used to specify priority order of the sort elements. The priority order may be specified by addressing code in a jump table. Duplicate code in the jump table having multiple entrance points allows for reduction of the size of the jump table. The relative priorities may be applied to a lookup table, hash or other function in order to address the jump table.

  • Patent number: 8233926
Abstract: A system and method is proposed for adapting the spatial transmission strategy in a cellular MIMO (multiple input multiple output) communication system for the downlink. Spatial mode adaptation, the choice of multiplexing, transmit diversity, number of streams, space-time code family, and the like are performed slowly based on side information from other base stations. Base stations exchange their transmission plans with neighboring base stations and broadcast this information to active users. Each user measures its susceptibility to spatial interference and returns this information to the base station. The base station then schedules active users according to the decisions made in interfering base stations and the preferred transmission strategies of its own users.
