Abstract: Emulsifier-containing plastics dispersions which serve as a binder for dispersion paints, should contain polymers forming a film at room temperature and having a high wet adhesion. Suitable polymers are prepared by polymerization of olefinically unsaturated monomers initiated by free radical-forming agents, especially in the presence of an emulsifier. As emulsifier there is used a salt of an acyl ester of the hydroxymethane-phosphonic acid. The emulsifier may remain in the dispersion ready-for-use without involving disadvantages for the wet adhesion.
Abstract: Novel aminoalkylpyrrolobenzoxazalkanes, physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof, method of preparing same and novel intermediates in the preparation thereof are described. These compounds are useful as analgesic agents and tranquilizers.

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for conducting ammonia in a diazo copying machine which comprises passing ammonia-containing exhaust air by first conduit means from a developing station of said copying machine through a cooled heat exchanger in which the ammonia and water is frozen out, then heating said heat exchanger to a temperature at which the water and the ammonia are liquified, passing the mixture of liquified water and liquified ammonia to a releasing station, adding fresh ammonia water to the liquified water and to the liquified ammonia, passing it together with the liquified water and liquified ammonia in the releasing station counter-currently to vapor produced by a vapor-generating means, and conducting the gaseous ammonia to the developing station, said process employing two heat exchangers, the first heat exchanger through which the exhaust air is passed being cooled and the second heat exchanger being heated for liquifying the ammonia and water frozen out during the preceding process step,

Abstract: Disclosed is a process and an apparatus for use therewith for maintaining a constant material web speed during winding of the material onto a driven roll. The process comprises adjusting the speed of the drive motor of the roll to be linearly proportioned to its control voltage; and, as the diameter of the roll increases due to the winding of material thereon, reducing the speed of the drive motor in accordance with a hyperbolic curve relating motor speed to the diameter of the roll characteristic of the winding operation.
Abstract: A blood leak in the dialyzer is detected by transmitting a pulsed beam of light into the dialysate flowstream at a predetermined angle of incidence between the central axis of the flowstream and the normal axis and measuring variations in reflecting light received by a photodetector arranged on the same side of the flowstream as the phototransmitter at a predetermined angle of reflection. The beam of light is interupted at a rate with a substantially equal on-time to off time ratio.
Abstract: In order to protect the environment from pollution, it is desirable to keep the polyvinyl alcohol content in waste waters as low as possible. Polyvinyl alcohol may be removed from waste waters by means of microorganisms on the the one hand, and on the other according to chemical/mechanical methods by salting-out and precipitation and subsequent separation of the solids. Advantageous is the precipitation in the form of a polyvinyl alcohol/boric acid/didiol complex, especially by means of alkaline earth metal hydroxides in an alkaline medium. Calcium hydroxide is a particularly suitable alkaline earth metal hydroxide.
