Abstract: Light sensitive coating compositions containing a dyestuff, which compositions exhibit improved adhesion to transparent film substrates, are disclosed. For example, the adhesion between a polyester base film and a light sensitive coating composition containing a light sensitive diazo material, a resinous binder and a dyestuff is improved by additionally incorporating into the composition an effective amount of an adhesion promoter based on a copolyester obtained by the esterification and subsequent polymerization of a lower alkylene glycol with a mixture of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, and at least one acyclic dicarboxylic acid. These coating compositions may be readily removed from the base film by appropriate lithographic developer solutions without substantial residual staining of the film by the dyestuff present in the coating composition.
Abstract: Process for the uniform application of treatment liquors to textile material webs with the aid of a measurement of the total moisture content applied, wherein, in the course of the material run, immediately behind a machine for applying the liquor to the continuously fed material, several measuring position are arranged transversely to the transport direction of the material and measurements of the total moisture are made by means of a contactless method, the measuring pulses determined in this manner are transmitted to the control elements of the preceding liquor application unit and there the amount of liquor pick-up from several separately controllable sections, which are distributed across the width of liquor application unit, is controlled in agreement with the measured values of the total mixture.

Abstract: Polymer dispersions are subject to a spray treatment to reduce the monomer content thereof. The dispersions are sprayed against the wall of the vessel by means of at least one spray nozzle. The residual monomer content of polymer dispersions is further reduced by spraying them in at least two series connected vessels, conducting the escaping gaseous constituents in one direction and the dispersion in opposite direction from one vessel to the next. The process is little liable to troubles and ensures a very effective monomer removal without thermal damage of the polymer.

Abstract: This invention relates to a liquid developer for developing electrostatic images which comprises an electrically insulating carrier liquid having dispersed therein pigmented polymer particles composed of pigment particles encapsulated by polymeric material and having a particle size in the range of about 0.1 to 12 .mu.m. The invention also includes a process for the preparation of the liquid developer.
Abstract: Octafluoropropane, C.sub.3 F.sub.8, is prepared by a two-step process. In the first step hexafluoropropene is reacted with hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a chromium oxyfluoride catalyst. The 2H-heptafluoropropane obtained is reacted with fluorine in the presence of a catalyst which contains a subgroup element of the Periodic System as a free metal or as a fluoride. Octafluoropropane is isolated from the resulting gas mixture. Hydrogen fluoride also obtained may be recycled to the first reaction step.
Abstract: The invention relates to acylamino(alkyl)benzene derivatives of the general formula ##STR1## in which W represents a group which can be converted into a carboxyl group, or an aldehyde group or an oxymethyl group or their derivatives or also a low molecular weight alkyl group, preferably a methyl group,X represents an aromatic or hetero-aromatic ring system,Y represents a single chemical bond or a hydrocarbon bridge, andZ represents hydrogen or one or even several other substituents,To their preparation and to pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The compounds have blood sugar lowering activity and may be used in the therapy of diabetes mellitus.

Abstract: New valuable, water-insoluble mixed diaminophenylenedisazomethine-naphthalene metal-complex compounds had been found consisting of two or more metal-complex disazomethine compounds of different constitution or different metal complexes which are prepared according to this invention by reacting one or several o-phenylene diamines with one or several hydroxy-naphthaldehydes at which process metallization is carried out by addition of one or several metal-yielding agents of one or several different metals before, during or after the condensation reaction of the amino and aldehyde compounds.
Abstract: The invention describes a sealing material from polytetrafluoroethylene fibers, whose staple length is in the range of from 1 to 20 mm. They are intimately mixed with graphite; oil and finely divided polytetrafluoroethylene being advantageously added. The portion of PTFE fibers is at least 50% by weight, the portion of graphite is from 10 to 30% by weight, and the portion of finely divided PTFE is from 5 to 15% by weight. As PTFE fibers there are also used those which have been obtained by machining sintered PTFE resin. The sealing material is formed into tablets or half-rings.The seals prepared are marked by their applicability at uncommonly high pressures.
Abstract: The invention provides a process for the regeneration of dilute sulfuric acid containing organic impurities and possibly also inorganic salt in several steps. In the first step, the dilute acid is concentrated by indirect heat exchange with the vapors of the second step, and in the second step it is concentrated by direct heat exchange with a countercurrent mixture of steam and acid vapors coming from a third step. In this third step, the acid discharged from the second step is mixed in direct heat exchange with superheated steam. The regenerated sulfuric acid is separated from this mixture and the remaining steam/vapor mixture is forwarded to the second step. In the case where the dilute acid contains organic substances, an oxidant is added in at least one of these process steps.

To this end hydrogen phosphide, a primary or a secondary phosphine is reacted with an alkylamine of the general formula:R.sub.n NH.sub.3-n (II)in a molar ratio of 0.1 to 10 mols of the alkylamine of formula II per mol of hydrogen phosphide or primary or secondary phosphine. The reaction is effected at a 150.degree. to 400.degree. C., at atmospheric pressure or a superatmospheric pressure up to 1 atmosphere gauge, and in contact with a catalyst comprising active carbon, copper (II) chromite, or one or more metals of Group Ib or VIII of the Periodic System of the elements.
