Abstract: The present invention relates to preservative compositions comprising at least two extracts selected from oak extract, grape seed extract and green tea extract. Said compositions are useful in the preservation of foods liable to lipid peroxidation.
Abstract: The invention relates to a solid dispersion comprising Coenzyme Q10 and a phospholipid, in the presence of a cellulosic derivative and/or a polymeric material selected from the group consisting of polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinyl acetate, poly (methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate), poloxamers, chitosan, alginates, hyaluronic acid, pectin, pullulan, cyclodextrins, starch polymers, D-alpha-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate.
Abstract: Disclosed are compositions containing an extract of Serenoa repens, a lipophilic extract of Zingiber officinalis and a lipophilic extract of Echinacea angustifolia or Zanthoxylum bungeanum.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of glucomoringin (GMG) and of the corresponding isothiocyanate derivative glucomoringin des-thioglucoside (GMG-ITC) as modulators of peripheral pain with specific reference to that linked with diabetic peripheral neuropathy and chemotherapy-induced neuropathy.
Abstract: Disclosed is a combination of lipophilic extracts of Zingiber officinale and Echinacea angustifolia for the treatment of itching, peripheral pain, superficial and deep inflammatory and painful states, pain associated with muscle spasms, herpes pain, and radiodermatitis caused by oncological radiotherapy, with or without fungal or bacterial infections.
Abstract: Methods for treating and preventing mucositis, in particular mucositis following the administration of chemotherapy drugs or a combination of said drugs with radiotherapy, are disclosed herein. More specifically, disclosed herein is the administration of a therapeutically effective amount of at least one of an anthocyanoside, a proanthocyanidin, or an extract containing at least one of an anthocyanoside or a proanthocyanidin for the treatment or prevention of mucositis. The therapeutically effective amount of the anthocyanoside, proanthocyanidin or extract can be administered alone or in combination with a therapeutically effective amount of at least one of an anti-inflammatory agent, immunomodulating agent, analgesic, antimicrobial agent or antifungal agent. Also disclosed herein are pharmaceutical compositions for treating and preventing mucositis.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the preparation of Cynara scolymus leaf extracts, which are useful for the prevention and treatment of dyslipidaemia, in particular to increase HDL cholesterol in patients at cardiovascular risk. Said extracts are useful to normalize the lipid and carbohydrate balances and significantly increase the value of HDL cholesterol by favorably changing the LDL/HDL ratio, especially in post-infarction patients with drug-induced dyslipidaemia.
Abstract: The present invention refers to an amorphous form of a thiocolchicine derivative, IDN 5404, to a process for producing it and to pharmaceutical compositions thereof. The amorphous form is characterized by the XRPD pattern, DSC profile and/or TG/DTA profile.

Abstract: Process for removing pesticides from Ginkgo biloba extracts, which involves submitting an extract obtained by conventional methods to the following steps: a. Liquid-liquid extraction of the extract to obtain a medium polarity fraction containing ginkgo terpenes and pesticides not removable with hexane, and a high polarity fraction containing ginkgo flavone glycosides; b. crystallisation from the medium polarity fraction obtained at step a) to give an intermediate with a ginkgolide content of not less than 50%; c. crystallisation from the residual solution obtained at step b) to give an intermediate with a bilobalide content of not less than 50%; d. mixing of the high polarity fraction obtained at step a) with the ginkgo terpene intermediate and the bilobalide intermediate obtained at steps b) and c).
