  • Publication number: 20130029233
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing an MnO2/carbon composite for a lithium-air secondary battery by preparing a precursor solution by dissolving permanganate powder in distilled water, preparing a MnO2/carbon composite by dispersing carbon in the precursor solution and using a reducing agent, and mixing the MnO2/carbon composite with polyvinylidene fluoride (PVdF) and supporting the mixture on nickel foam. According to the method for preparing a MnO2/carbon composite for a lithium-air secondary battery, the MnO2/carbon composite is prepared by dispersing carbon in a permanganate solution, instead of simply mixing carbon with manganese oxide, and thus the binding force between carbon and manganese oxide and the dispersion of carbon in manganese oxide can increase. The MnO2/carbon composite prepared by the above method has improved catalytic performance as an air electrode for a lithium-air secondary battery and thus can be effectively used as an electrode material for lithium-air secondary batteries.

  • Publication number: 20130022529
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing a platinum-manganese dioxide/carbon complex for a positive-electrode material of a lithium-air battery. More specifically, a manganese dioxide/carbon complex is prepared by dispersing carbon in a manganese dioxide precursor solution and applying microwaves, filtering and drying to the resulting solution. Next a platinum-manganese dioxide/carbon complex is prepared by dispersing the manganese dioxide/carbon complex in ethylene glycol, adding a platinum precursor and applying microwaves to the resulting solution. The platinum-manganese dioxide/carbon complex synthesized according to the present invention exhibits lower overvoltage and higher current density in oxygen reduction and oxidation reactions as compared to either a manganese dioxide/carbon complex or a platinum/carbon complex.

  • Publication number: 20130010841
Abstract: Disclosed are a control method and a control device for implementing two-way communication in a wireless network. A repeater can measure a channel matrix, which indicates channel information of each of a plurality of nodes based on signals received simultaneously from the plurality of the nodes, and calculate a first basic lattice size, which initializes the lattice sizes of the received signals according to predefined rules. Then, the repeater uses the channel matrix of each of the nodes and the initialized first lattice size to calculate for each of the nodes a first normalization factor, which normalizes the sizes of the signals simultaneously received from each of the nodes, and a minimum normalized factor, which is equivalent to the minimum value of the first normalization factor.

  • Patent number: 8325017
Abstract: The present invention relates to a time slot allocation apparatus and method for preventing collisions between time slots in a TDMA-based RFID network. The time slot allocation apparatus allocates time slots, obtained by dividing a same frequency band into unit time slots, to RFID readers for reading identification codes of RFID tags (10) in the TDMA-based RFID network. A time slot allocation device (33a) allocates time slots required for communication with the RFID tags to a plurality of RFID readers (20) provided in the RFID network. A collision prevention device (33b) performs control such that the time slot allocation device allocates time slots to the plurality of RFID readers while distributing different and non-successive time slots to adjacent RFID readers, thus preventing collisions from occurring between time slots allocated to the RFID readers.

  • Patent number: 8259376
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for delayed optical logic gates based on slow light and enhanced nondegenerate four-wave mixing processes, where a single or multiple delayed optical routers are utilized for dark resonance interactions in which two-color lasers interact with a three-level nonlinear optical medium comprised of two ground states and one excited state through the nondegenerate four-wave mixing processes. The delayed optical logic mechanism is based on combination of single or multiple dark resonance-induced two-photon coherence conversion via slow light phenomenon. The two-photon coherence induced on the ground states is optically detected via nondegenerate four-wave mixing processes. The nondegenerate four-wave mixing generation is enhanced owing to dark resonance or electromagnetically induced transparency.

  • Patent number: 8218423
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a ranging apparatus and method. The ranging apparatus includes a correlation unit for correlating OFDMA reception signals with inverse fast Fourier transformed ranging codes, and outputting correlation result values. A threshold determination unit determines a threshold value depending on characteristics of the reception signals. A comparison unit estimates a delay time by selecting a maximum value from among the correlation result values, and detects a ranging code by comparing the maximum value with the threshold value, and then outputs and feeds back the ranging code and the delay time when the maximum value is equal to or greater than the threshold value. A weight multiplication unit delays the ranging code by the delay time, multiplies a weight by the delayed ranging code, and outputs a resulting value. A calculation unit subtracts the resulting value from the reception signals, and provides adjusted reception signals.
