Abstract: A device and method for shutting off fluid-flow in a pipe. The device includes a moveable sealing member inside a pipeline, a longitudinal spring configured to bias against the sealing member in a first direction, and a lateral spring at an angle to the longitudinal spring wherein the lateral spring is configured to bias against the sealing member in a second direction. The device includes a housing with a passage configured to be positioned inline with a pipeline, and a sealing seat. A locking element is biased against the sealing member using the lateral spring to maintain an open position with the sealing member off of the sealing seat. The locking element is configured to move from the sealing member upon a fluid overpressure in the passage, whereby the sealing member extends into the seal seat to close off the pipeline upon the overpressure.

Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques for evaluating and improving distribution-grid observability. These systems and techniques allow engineers to quantify the observability of a distribution grid, which represents an ability to combine actual measurements and various types of computations (e.g., analytics, estimators, forecasters), from a system model. Distribution engineers can also identify islands of observability where operating parameters, including voltages, currents, and power flows, can be determined from available sensor readings. By exclusion, distribution engineers can similarly identify areas of the distribution grid with observability deficiencies that may require additional instrumentation to maintain proper operation. Distribution engineers, using an iterative or automated process, can determine the observability of the system model with new or relocated sensors to generate a sensor allocation plan.

Abstract: A system for adaptively adjusting related search words are provided. The system includes an input device, a search log collection module, a threshold setting module and a process evolution module. The input device receives a search word. The search log collection module determines whether the cumulative search count of the search word is greater than a first threshold or less than a second threshold. The threshold setting module sets the first threshold and the second threshold in terms of the number of search logs. When the cumulative search count of the search word is between the first threshold and the second threshold, the process evolution module optimizes the middle search process to find out at least one related word and/or at least one historical search word most related to the attributes or content of the search word from the indexed text and the historical search log.

Abstract: A cloud management method and a cloud management device are provided. The cloud management method determines whether a plurality of pods are overloaded, identifies resource usage current states of a cluster and a node, and determines a method of scaling resources of a specific pod that is overloaded from among the plurality of pods, according to the resource usage current states of the cluster and the node, and scales the resources of the specific pod according to the determined method. Accordingly, scaling for uniformly extending resources of a node and a pod in a cluster horizontally and vertically can be automatically performed.
Abstract: A data de-identification apparatus and method are provided. The data de-identification apparatus stores a data set of a first industry, wherein the data set is defined with a plurality of fields. The data de-identification apparatus receives a first instruction and a second instruction, wherein the first instruction corresponds to a second industry and the second instruction corresponds to a use of data. The data de-identification apparatus determines an identification category for each of the fields according to the first industry, the second industry, and the use of data. The data de-identification apparatus transforms the data set into a transformed data set according to the use of data and then transforms the transformed data set into a de-identification data set according to the identification categories.

Abstract: Providing user assistance in a vehicle includes identifying a traffic behavior of an object in an environment surrounding the vehicle based on an evaluation of information about the environment surrounding the vehicle while the vehicle is in the midst of manual operation, and issuing an alert to a user prompting the user to implement defensive manual operation. The user assistance further includes receiving a traffic behavior model that describes a predominating traffic behavior of a like population of reference objects, and issuing the alert to a user prompting the user to implement defensive manual operation in response to identifying that the traffic behavior of the object does not match the predominating traffic behavior of the like population of reference objects. Under the defensive manual operation, the traffic behavior of the object is addressed.
Abstract: An unmanned, automated aerial system is programmed to fly in a set pattern around an antenna. The antenna is supported by a structure on the ground, or attached to an aerostat, according to its operational wavelength, in order to avoid ground effects. The radiation pattern of the antenna under test is measured by an antenna onboard the aerial system. The positional data of both antennas is logged to account for any interference in the measurements due to atmospheric conditions.
