Abstract: Methods of mapping a subterranean formation using imploding particles are described. In some cases, the particles contain a material that generated a gas which passes through a water-insoluble coating to create a void within the particle. In some aspects, the implosive particles have a coating that dissolves in the subterranean formation.

Abstract: A depth estimating apparatus operated by at least one processor includes: a database which stores a photographed first color image, a training thermal image geometrically aligned with the first color image, and a second color image simultaneously photographed with the first color image as a training image set; and a training apparatus which trains a neural network in an unsupervised manner to output a chromaticity image and a binocular disparity image from the training thermal image. The training apparatus generates an estimated first color image from the second color image, the chromaticity image, and the binocular disparity image, and trains the neural network to minimize a difference between the estimated first color image and the photographed first color image.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of CFC (cardiofaciocutaneous) syndrome comprising a TGF-? signaling pathway inhibitor or a BMP signaling pathway activator. The treatment of SB-431542 or BMP4 protein was confirmed to increase the ALP activity and bone mineral deposition in the osteoblasts originated from the induced pluripotent stem cells derived from CFC syndrome patients. Thus, the TGF-? signaling pathway inhibitor containing SB-431542 or the BMP signaling pathway activator containing BMP4 protein can be effectively used for the prevention or treatment of CFC syndrome.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for removing cesium in a clay mineral using hydrogen peroxide. According to the present invention, cesium in a clay mineral is removed using hydrogen peroxide, which serves to induce interlayer expansion of the clay mineral to allow a cation to easily enter an interlayer of the clay mineral, and thus cesium desorption efficiency can be further improved. Also, the method according to the present invention can be efficiently used to restore soil in residential areas widely contaminated with a radionuclide when a major accident such as Fukushima nuclear accident occurs as well as various sites of atomic energy facilities contaminated with a radionuclide. Also, since radiation-contaminated soil is treated with only hydrogen peroxide and cations, secondary environmental pollution caused by wastes can be significantly reduce and the waste disposing cost can also be saved.

Abstract: The microRNA ANGPTL3 inhibitor includes methods of administering a miRNA capable of inhibiting ANGTPL3 and/or dyslipidemia to a subject in need thereof. The methods of administering the miRNA ANGPTL3 inhibitor may include administration of miRNA-181d to a subject in need thereof. The administration of miRNA-181d may inhibit ANGPTL3 activity, thereby reducing ANGPTL3's inhibition of lipoprotein lipase activity and increasing triglyceride degradation. The administration of miRNA-181d may be used to treat or prevent lipid metabolism disorders including dyslipidemia and dyslipidemia associated diseases, such as hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, heart disease, and the like.
Abstract: An encoding apparatus and a decoding apparatus in a transform between a Modified Discrete Cosine Transform (MDCT)-based coder and a different coder are provided. The encoding apparatus may encode additional information to restore an input signal encoded according to the MDCT-based coding scheme, when switching occurs between the MDCT-based coder and the different coder. Accordingly, an unnecessary bitstream may be prevented from being generated, and minimum additional information may be encoded.
