Abstract: The combined use of 1,2-dilinoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine and 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine affords a superior anti-depressive action, an improving effect on the cognitive function associated with depression, an improving effect on the stress-induced suppression of Akt activation, and a suppressive action on the stress-induced GSK-3? activation. Therefore, the present invention can provide an antidepressant combination drug, an agent for improving cognitive function associated with depression, an agent for improving stress-induced suppression of Akt activation and an agent for suppressing stress-induced GSK-3? activation.

Abstract: The invention provides a first-order phase-transition La(Fe,Si)13-based magnetocaloric material showing small hysteresis loss, and preparation and use thereof. The material has a NaZn13-type structure, is composed of granules with a particle size in the range of 15˜200 ?m and not less than 15 ?m, and is represented by chemical formula La1-xRx(Fe1-p-qCopMnq)13-ySiyA?. The method for preparing the material comprises steps of preparing the material La1-xRx(Fe1-p-qCopMnq)13-ySiyA? by smelting and annealing; and then crushing the material into powder with a particle size in the range of 15˜200 ?m. Without changing the components, a La(Fe,Si)13-based magnetocaloric material showing small hysteresis loss and strong magnetocaloric effect can be obtained by adjusting the particle size within the range of 15˜200 ?m. Utilization of this type of materials in the practical magnetic refrigeration application is of great significance.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes or dementia, comprising centipede grass (Eremochloa ophiuroides) extracts as an active ingredient. Abstract: A DNA vaccine suitable for eliciting an immune response against cancer cells comprises a DNA construct operably encoding a cancer-associated Inhibitor of Apoptosis-family protein and an immunoactive gene product, such as a cytokine or a ligand for a natural killer cell surface receptor, in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. A preferred cytokine is CCL21. Preferred ligands for a natural killer cell surface receptor include human MICA, human MICB, human ULBP1, human ULBP2, and human ULBP3. The cancer-associated Inhibitor of Apoptosis (IAP)-family protein is preferably a survivin protein or livin protein. Method of inhibiting tumor growth by administering the vaccine of the invention to a mammal is also described.

Abstract: Provided are a method and system for providing a sleep state in a device accessible to a wired or wireless network. Provided are a method and a system, which dynamically determine the optimal parameter in a sleep state depending on a network characteristic in providing the sleep state to a network-accessible terminal, and thus reduce the period of an active state of the network-accessible terminal, thereby considerably decreasing power consumption. Provided are a method and a system, which do not unnecessarily use a clock in an active state by selecting the optimal clock according to a purpose of transiting from the sleep state to the active state, and thus reduce the period of the active state of the network-accessible terminal, thereby considerably decreasing power consumption.
