Abstract: A joined product has a cemented carbide sintered compact serving as a first material to be joined and a cBN sintered compact serving as a second material to be joined, wherein: the first material to be joined and the second material to be joined are joined together via a joining material disposed therebetween and containing titanium (Ti); and a titanium nitride (TiN) compound layer having a thickness of 10-300 nm is produced at an interface between the second material to be joined and the joining material.

Abstract: A light communication system, a transmitter and a receiver are provided. The light communication system includes the transmitter and the receiver. The transmitter has a first processing unit and a light-emitting element. The first processing unit produces a transmission signal. The light-emitting element produces light to carry the transmission signal. The receiver has a first variable lens, a photosensitive element and a second processing unit. The first variable lens changes the propagation path of the light. The photosensitive element senses the light passed through the first variable lens to produce a receiving signal. The second processing unit controls the first variable lens based on the signal quality of the receiving signal to change the equivalent channel between the transmission signal and the receiving signal. Therefore, the transmission capability of the light communication system is enhanced.

Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for hybrid off-board vehicle navigation are disclosed. In the system, a multi-stop route package is created and sent from a route server to a navigation device. The route package can include a collection of vehicle attributes and corresponding road restrictions for guiding the vehicle towards its destination. The server can optionally push the route package to the vehicle in an email message or other stored communication. When an off-route condition is detected, the navigation device can send a route request to the server that includes the vehicle attributes and the corresponding road restrictions. The server can respond with a partial route correction that is determined based on the vehicle attributes and road restrictions.

Abstract: A reagent is provided for removing mercury (Hg). The reagent contains metal carbonates compound with layers structure. The contents of metals of reagent can be adjusted using this method. The reagent can be manufactured with kilogram grade per batch. The common ions, like Mg, Ca, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, etc., can be contained in the reagent. The manufacture method provides a low-cost way for the Hg sorbent and the content ratio of metal oxides can be higher than 50 wt %. The manufacture is operated at a temperature more than 200° C. and can be integrated with existing technology such as denitration catalysts in industry for removing Hg. In another word, the present invention fabricates a mercury-removing reagent of metal-M/aluminum carbonates (M-Al—CO3), which can be potentially combined with commercially selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts for developing medium-high-temperature mercury-removing reagent with mercury-removing efficiency further enhanced.

Abstract: An anti-counterfeiting RFID tag structure includes a body and a RFID device disposed on the body. The body is an O-ring. The RFID device includes a RFID chip circuit and an antenna structure. Abstract: The present disclosure describes novel bacterial strains which express a pyruvate decarboxylase gene and at least one alcohol dehydrogenase gene from a bacteria of the genus Zymomonas and also express a hemoglobin gene from a bacteria of the genus Vitreoscilla. The present disclosure further describes methods for producing fermentation products with a microorganism which expresses a pyruvate decarboxylase gene and at least one alcohol dehydrogenase gene from a bacteria of the genus Zymomonas and also express a hemoglobin gene from a bacteria of the genus Vitreoscilla. Further the present disclosure describes methods for increasing production of a fermentation product comprising genetically engineering a microorganism which expresses a xylose isomerase gene to also express a hemoglobin gene from a bacteria of the genus Vitreoscilla.
