Abstract: Adsorbent pellets coated with an outer nano-porous layer can be loaded with gas at loading pressures of 250 bar or greater, enabling a much higher loading than can be achieved at low pressures. The nano-porous layer provides nano-valves which can be sealed with an adsorbate such as ethanol or a hydrocarbon to close the nano-valves. The closed nano-valves maintain the high loading pressure inside the adsorbent pellets, and thus maintain the gas loading, during storage of the loaded nano-valved adsorbent pellets at much lower pressure. To release the gas, the nano-porous layer can be heated to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the adsorbate and open the nano-valves.

Abstract: Network-coding-enabled reliability architectures and techniques are provided that are capable of enhancing data transfer reliability and efficiency in next generation wireless networks. In some embodiments, the techniques and architectures utilize a flexible thread-based coding approach to implement network coding. The techniques and architectures may also, or alternatively, utilize systematic intra-session random linear network coding as a packet erasure code to support reliable data transfer.
Abstract: Technologies are generally described to provide a distributed scheme that enables a Green-energy Aware and the Latency Aware (GALA) user-base station (BS) associations in wireless networks, whose BSs are powered by both on-grid energy and green energy. According to some examples, the GALA approach may consider traffic delivery latency and green energy generation rate in BSs to determine the user-BS association. The GALA approach may converge to a particular solution, which may reduce the summation of the weighted latency ratios of BSs, while enabling a trade-off between the on-grid power consumption and the average traffic delivery latency.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides detection devices and methods using a diffraction wavefront of a pinhole stitching measurement of surface shape. The light emitted from the laser passes through a filter hole, a first condenser lens, a spatial filter, a beam expander, a half wave plate, a ?/4 wave plate, an attention plate and then is transmitted through a beam splitter, reflected by a reflecting mirror and is irradiated onto an pinhole through a first optical adjustable shelf and a second set of condenser lens. A part of diffraction light generated by the pinhole is irradiated to the mirror to be measured; the light reflected by the mirror to be measured is reflected by a frame of the pinhole and generate a diffraction fringe along with another part of the diffraction wavefront of the pinhole. The interference fringe is focused by the third set of condenser lens on the third optical adjustable shelf and is collected by the CCD detector.

Abstract: An integrated optical linewidth reduction system includes a phase modulator adapted to modulate the phase of an incoming optical signal in response to a feedback control signal defined by a first electrical signal. The phase modulator is further adapted to generate a first optical signal travelling through a first optical path. The first electrical signal is representative of a phase noise of the first optical signal. An optical linewidth of the first optical signal is less than an optical linewidth of the incoming optical signal.

Abstract: This disclosure provides a computer-program product, system, method and apparatus for accessing a representation of a category or item and accessing a set of multiple transactions. The transactions are processed to identify items found amongst the transactions, and the items are ordered based on an information-gain heuristic. A depth-first search for a group of best association rules is then conducted using a best-first heuristic and constraints that make the search efficient. The best rules found during the search can then be displayed to a user, along with accompanying statistics. The user can then select rules that appear to be most relevant, and further analytics can be applied to the selected rules to obtain further information about the information provided by these rules.

Abstract: There is provided a substrate with a lower growth confinement layer disposed thereon. An upper growth confinement layer is disposed above and vertically separated from the lower growth confinement layer. A planar lateral growth channel is provided between the upper and lower growth confinement layers with a vertical separation between the layers along the lateral growth channel. A germanium material growth seed of amorphous silicon is disposed at a site adjacent to the lateral growth channel. The upper growth confinement layer and the lower growth confinement layer each prohibits crystalline germanium material nucleation on the upper and lower growth confinement layers during exposure to GeH4 gas, for crystalline germanium material growth initiation in the lateral growth channel only at the growth seed site. Crystalline germanium material fills the lateral growth channel. A growth channel outlet provides formed crystalline germanium material from the lateral growth channel.
