  • Patent number: 7250837
Abstract: The electro-mechanical micro-switch device includes first and second fixed electrodes. A movable electrode is positioned with respect to the first and second fixed electrodes so that the position of the movable electrode can be selectively placed in one of two opposing states defined by the fixed electrodes. The stored elastic potential energy of the movable electrode and its flexible supporting structure is used for switching between the two states. An electrostatic hold voltage is used to hold the movable electrode in the two switch states.

  • Patent number: 7250134
Abstract: A steel powder metal skeleton is infiltrated with an infiltrant composition similar to the skeleton, with an additional agent that depresses the melting point of the infiltrant relative to the skeleton. Infiltration is driven primarily by capillary pressure. The powder and infiltrant compositions differ primarily only in a higher concentration of a melting point depressant agent “MPD” in the infiltrant. Carbon (C) and silicon (Si) and several other elements can be elements in an MPD, either alone or in combination. Certain steel target compositions are such that a complementary infiltrant, and skeleton can be chosen such that a skeleton will remain solid at an infiltration temperature at which the infiltrant can be melted and fully infiltrated, and further where there is a persistent two phase field, with a liquid phase that is large enough (greater than 7% vol, and typically between 20 and 40 vol %) so that flow can be maintained without choke off from diffusional solidification.

  • Patent number: 7251589
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods for performing forecast scoring based upon time series data that is indicative of a data generation activity occurring over a period of time. One or more data stores store historical data and future data. The historical data includes historical exogenous inputs. The future data includes future exogenous inputs. A dynamic statistical model receives the historical data and future data that are stored in the one or more data stores. The dynamic statistical model is to provide forecast scoring based upon the historical exogenous inputs and the future exogenous inputs. An optimizer having an objective function iteratively varies the future data, so that forecasts associated with the varying future data values are generated by the dynamic statistical model for evaluation by the objective function.

  • Patent number: 7250409
Abstract: Anlogs of ningalin B lacking inherent cytotoxic activity may be employed to reverse multi-drug resistant (MDR) phenotype and to resensitize transformed cells, including a human colon cancer cell line (HCT116/VM46), with respect to a variety of cytotoxic agents, e.g., vinblastine and doxorubicin. In many instances, resensitization is achieved at lower doses than the prototypical agent verapamil. Total synthesis of ningalin B and its analogs was achieved using a concise, efficient approach based on a heterocyclic azadiene Diels-Alder strategy (1,2,4,5-tetrazine?1,2-diazine?pyrrole) ideally suited for construction of the densely functionalized pyrrole core found in the natural product is detailed.

  • Patent number: 7251414
Abstract: The invention relates to a data structure and operation method for A/V (audio/video) disks. The specification disclosures a type of navigation files with a new structure. This navigation file utilizes a plurality of tables with different data types to record data relevant to another A/V file in the disk. To distinguish different data types of tables, each table has a table head and a table serial number. There is also an erase/modify information table in each of the data types to record editing information that has been done (such as editing information of erase/modify). Any newly created or edited table is written to a disk by appending. When first using an A/V player to play A/V data, all the tables are combined into a navigation file through the steps of separating tables, modifying tables and rearranging table. Thus, newly created or edited A/V data in an A/V disk can be played without the need to modify the original navigation file in the disk.
