Abstract: Provided are a transition metal compound including a novel carbene compound as a ligand, a preparation method thereof, and an application thereof. The transition metal compound according to the present invention may form a structurally stable complex and also have a HOMO-LUMO energy gap and singlet-triplet transition energy which are significantly low as compared with a conventional transition metal compound. In addition, according to the present invention, the transition metal compound may be synthesized in large quantities by a very simple method, thereby having high commercial utility, and thus, an application using the compound is expected.

Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a pressure swing adsorption process of a hydrogen production system is provided. The hydrogen production system includes a desulfurization process for removing sulfur components from raw natural gas; a reforming reaction process for producing a reformed gas containing hydrogen generated by the reaction of natural gas through the desulfurization process and steam; and a pressure swing adsorption process of concentrating the hydrogen using a pressure swing adsorption from the reformed gas. In a desorption step of the pressure swing adsorption process, a cocurrent depressurization and a countercurrent depressurization are simultaneously performed.

In detail, the tomography imaging apparatus and the method of reconstructing a tomography image may obtain information indicating a motion of a moving object according to a time, may perform motion correction based on the obtained motion information, and may reconstruct a target image with reduced motion artifacts.

Abstract: The method for assisting a person in operating in a dynamic environment may form part of a mobility assistance system. The method comprises a step of acquiring sensor data comprising a time sequence of at least two consecutive images of the dynamic environment from at least one sensor, for example a camera. Optical flows are calculated based on the at least two consecutive images. Feature scores associated to spatial positions for selected regions in an image space are determined in order to generate a feature score field. An output signal including directional stimulus information is generated based on the generated feature score field, wherein the directional stimulus information comprises information on relative spatial relations between the selected regions. The generated output signal is provided to at least one actuator, which signals the directional stimulus information to the person.

The method of preparing the polyolefin resin comprises: conducting olefin polymerization of olefin monomers in the presence of a catalyst, and adding organosilane to a polymerization system before the olefin polymerization and/or during the olefin polymerization, wherein the organosilane is represented by a general formula of R1mSiXn(OR2)k, wherein R1 is a C2-C20 alkyl, and a terminal of R1 has an ?-olefin double bond, a norbornene group, a cycloalkene group, or a dicyclopentadiene group; X is a halogen element; R2 is a C1-C20 straight chain, a C1-C20 branched chain, or an isomerized alkyl group; m is an integer from 1-3; n is an integer from 1-3; k is an integer from 0-2; and m, n, and k satisfy the following condition: m+n+k=4. The polyolefin resin obtained by the above method has higher melt strength and mechanical strength.

Abstract: A C-terminus modification to a binding pocket-modified vancomycin introduces a quaternary ammonium salt that provides a binding pocket-modified vancomycin analog with a second mechanism of action that is independent of D-Ala-D-Ala/D-Ala-D-Lac binding. The modification disrupts cell wall integrity and induces cell wall permeability complementary to the glycopeptide inhibition of cell wall synthesis, and provides synergistic improvements in antimicrobial potency (200-fold) against vancomycin-resistant bacteria. Combining the C-terminus and binding pocket modifications with an orthogonal (4-chlorobiphenyl) methyl addition to the vancomycin disaccharide provides even more potent antimicrobial agents whose activity can be attributed to three independent and synergistic mechanisms of action, only one of which requires D-Ala-D-Ala/D-Ala-D-Lac binding.
