Abstract: A direct fueling station and a method of refueling are provided. The station includes an insulated tank for storing a liquefied fuel, a pump, at least a heat exchanger, a control unit, a dispenser including a flow meter, a flow control device, and at least one sensor for testing pressure and/or temperature. The heat exchanger converts liquefied fuel from pump into a gaseous fuel, which is added into an onboard fuel tank in a vehicle. The control unit includes one or more programs used to coordinate with the pump, the flow meter, the flow control device, and/or the sensor(s) so as to control a refueling method. A peak electrical power requirement is less than that determined by the product of a rated volumetric flow rate of the pump and a rated pumping pressure adequate for a fill pressure of the vehicle. A computer implemented system having the program(s) is also provided.

Abstract: A Drain Extended Tunnel FET (DeTFET) device is disclosed that outperforms state of art devices and can meet the requirements of High voltage/high power devices operating in the range of 5V-20V for System on Chip (SoC). The device comprises a P+ SiGe source with an N-type Si Epilayer sandwiched between SiGe source and the gate stack, which enables vertical tunneling of minority carriers from SiGe P+ source into N-Epi region under the influence of gate field. The area tunneling between SiGe source and Si Epi region breaks the barrier imposed by thermionic injection based carrier transport from source to channel, which exists in DeMOS devices known in the art. The disclosed device results in improved performance in respect of ON current, leakage, sub-threshold slope, breakdown voltage and RF characteristics making it attractive for SoC applications as compared to its state of the art counterparts.
Abstract: A method of safely stabilizing carbon nanotubes containing reactive or unstable catalyst metal particles by selective oxidation, or melting and removing the catalyst metal particles under controlled conditions. In one embodiment, the method may include preparing carbon nanotubes containing a residual catalyst metal, pickling the carbon nanotubes, and the subsequence oxidation of the residual catalyst metal by heat-treating without oxidation of the carbon nanotubes. In another embodiment, the method may include preparing carbon nanotubes containing a residual catalyst metal, first acid pickling, melting the residual catalyst metal by heat-treating in a vacuum chamber, and second acid pickling to remove the melted residual catalyst metal.

Abstract: Bistable devices are constructed using a polynucleotide platform for sensing molecular events such as binding or conformational changes of target molecules. Uses include measurement of target concentration, measuring the effect of environmental condition (such as heat, light, or pH) on the target, or screening a library for molecules that bind the target or modulate its biological function. Devices comprise three regions: a top lid, bottom lid, and flexible linker or hinge between them. A device has an open configuration in which the top and bottom lid are separated, and a closed configuration they are bound close together. Binding domains or variations of the target molecule are fixed to a device so that when the molecular event occurs, the device switches from open to closed, or vice versa, which generates a signal. Optimal device design is determined by the signal modality (optical or electronic) used to measure closure of surface-immobilized devices.
Abstract: Methods are provided for the prevention and/or treatment of pain, interstitial cystitis and/or overactive bladder in a subject using an IPSE protein, such as H03 H-IPSE, H06 H-IPSE, M-IPSE or other IPSE homologs, variants, mutants or mimics. The IPSE protein can be administered prior to, contemporaneously with, and/or after the subject develops pain, interstitial cystitis and/or overactive bladder. Pharmaceutical compositions also are provided that contain one or more IPSE proteins in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient or diluent.

Abstract: Described herein is a magnetically levitated linear transportation stage which utilizes a permanent magnet bias flux to generate a passive magnetic/suspension force/torque in a first set of directions orthogonal to a direction of transportation stage travel, a motor flux which forms a traveling wave along a direction of transportation stage travel and a suspension control force orthogonal to the direction of transportation stage travel. Abstract: A fitness equipment control system is provided.
