Some embodiments of the technologies include an apparatus that can receive a sequence of bits having a defined number of bits, where the sequence of bits represent a desired continuous pulse signal having a programmable width in time-domain. The apparatus can also can receive a precursor continuous pulse signal having an arbitrary width in time-domain that fits within the dynamic range of the apparatus. The apparatus can generate the desired continuous pulse signal by transforming the precursor continuous pulse signal using the sequence of bits and an inverse chaotic map.

A brain injury-specific 4-amino acid peptide (sequence CAQK), identified by in vivo phage display screening in mice with acute brain injury, shows selective binding to mouse and human brain injury lesions, and when systemically injected, specifically homes to sites of injury in penetrating and non-penetrating (controlled cortical impact) brain injury models. Significantly, the peptide alone produces therapeutic effect and so can be used in the absence of any other therapeutic compound.

    Abstract: A catalyst for catalytic oxidation of furfural to prepare maleic acid is composed of a carbon nitride doped with a potassium salt. A method for preparing the catalyst includes mixing the potassium salt, a precursor of the carbon nitride and a solvent to obtain a mixture, and drying and calcining the mixture to obtain the catalyst. A use of the catalyst in catalytic oxidation of furfural to prepare maleic acid, wherein the maleic acid is prepared by the step of oxidizing furfural in a solvent in the presence of the catalyst. The invention has the advantages that by using the method provided by the invention to prepare maleic acid, the conversion rate of furfural can be 99% or more and the yield of maleic acid can be up to 70.40%.

One or more flow characteristics are determined from the data obtained from the measuring devices. The method involves computing critical dynamics from backward time finite-time Lyapunov exponent (FTLE) field based on the one or more flow characteristics. Next, one or more regions of critical dynamics associated with impending oscillatory instabilities in the turbulent flow system are identified. The identified region of critical dynamics is disrupted the control the onset of oscillatory instabilities in the turbulent flow system.

A workload between the first level control stations is allocated by assigning the vehicles using the state indicators of the second state display.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for predictive soil mapping based on solar radiation in large flat area, comprising: Step 1, capturing the response process of the earth's surface heat: after an observation day or an observation period is selected, a curve graph depicting a dynamic response of the surface heat to solar radiation captured by using a remote sensor of a moderate-resolution imaging spectrometer; Step 2, constructing environmental covariates: quantitative analysis is performed for the dynamic response curve graph obtained in Step 1 by a mathematical method, and characteristic parameters are extracted and taken as environmental covariates; and Step 3: a machine learning model is established for the predictive soil attribute mapping. This method solves the challenge of effective soil mapping in flat areas, significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of predictive soil mapping in flat areas, reduces the cost in time and economy of soil survey mapping.
