  • Patent number: 7453169
Abstract: An uninterruptible power supply wherein an isolation device is automatically tested during normal operation to ensure that it is capable of effectively isolating the input from an auxiliary power supply during emergency operation. The uninterruptible power supply includes an input for coupling to a main power supply, an output for connection to an electrical load, an auxiliary power supply and a selective isolation device configured to isolate the auxiliary power supply from the input during emergency operation. First components establish a reverse polarity across the isolation device for a test period during normal operation, and second components monitor a voltage proportional to the input voltage to the isolation device and output an error signal if the monitored voltage remains or rises above a first reference value during the test period.

  • Patent number: 7431139
Abstract: A compactly constructed guide system has a run surface for guiding the run of the chain rollers. To guide the sides of the steps, a sliding pin arranged on a step rests on a side surface. A counter-surface serves as a counter-guide for the chain rollers and prevents the chain links from being pushed together. By means of an encapsulation, the step rollers, the chain links, and the running surface can be protected from dirt, dust, water, objects, etc. For run guidance of the step roller, a running surface is provided. An oil collecting channel prevents dripping of lubricating oil. The guide system rests on a bracket plate projection and is releasably connected to the bracket plate. The single-piece guide system is simple and efficient to install and can be accurately positioned at the sides against stops.

  • Patent number: 7424934
Abstract: A method for designing a regulator uses a predetermined overall model of an elevator car with known structure. The model parameters are known to greater or lesser extent or estimations are present, wherein the parameters for the elevator car used are to be identified. In that case the frequency responses of the model are compared with the measured frequency responses. With the help of an algorithm for optimization of functions with numerous variables the estimated model parameters are changed to achieve the greatest possible agreement. The model with the identified parameters forms the basis for design of an optimum regulator for active vibration damping at the elevator car.

  • Publication number: 20080222143
Abstract: Methods and systems for displaying search engine results where the file links are displayed with corresponding images of things that fall within a given category are disclosed. Object detection software can be used with a search engine to provide search results to a user that contain specific images found within the result pages (i.e. the pages of the websites returned as the results). For a given class of objects, the user can be presented with images that contain that class of object along with the result hyperlinks, allowing the user to make a more informed choice as to which hyperlink is the most appropriate search result, without being inundated with all of image files present in the result pages.
