  • Patent number: 4831519
Abstract: A processor cell that may be integrated with a multiplicity of dynamically reconfigurable 16-bit slices to enable and disable arbitrary collections of processing elements under software control according to the data being operating upon is provided. The structure allows a collection of word sizes to be defined and then for certain processing elements to be enabled or disabled according to the data that they are operating upon. A slave mechanism is described wherein for words comprised of a multiplicity of slices the most significant slice is in control and the other slices are slaved or forced to go along with the operation of the most significant slice. This slaving is obtained automatically without the necessity to explicitly coordinate the operation of the multiplicity of slices cooperated together to form a word. The cell includes a Find and Lose operation wherein a scaler control means selects one from a multiplicity of processors satisfying some condition.

  • Patent number: 4828510
Abstract: A latching arrangement for a connector is disclosed in which the cooperating latch elements are located inside the connector bodies whereby they are relatively well protected from damage. Latch levers mounted by torsion pivots on the plug ride up ramps on a center latch dog on the receptacle until latching shoulders on the levers engage catch shoulders on the dog to lock the plug and receptacle together. An interfacial seal between the plug and receptacle connector bodies urge the latching shoulders on the levers into firm engagement with the catch shoulders on the latch dog. This arrangement provides self ejection of the plug from the receptacle if the two parts are not fully mated.

  • Patent number: 4827515
Abstract: A digital demodulator demodulates and separates the individual components of a digitized stereo multiplex signal which contains a narrowband information channel at three times the pilot signal frequency. Demodulation is accomplished by means of five digital demodulators to which respective carriers are applied from a carrier conditoning circuit. Each carrier has a frequency of the pilot signal frequency, twice the pilot signal frequency or three times the pilot signal frequency. The carriers are generated as data word sequences which contain only the values +1, -1 and 0. The sampling interval for the remaining carrier is 60.degree., beginning from 0.degree.. The signal sampling frequencies are adapted to the different sampling frequencies of the carriers by means of decimation circuits. Each of the six components is freed from interfering adjacent signals by a low-pass filter.

  • Patent number: 4827442
Abstract: This circuit simultaneously provides the sine- and cosine-function values for one and the same digital argument from any of the quadrants of the sine and cosine functions. Stored in the two halves of a read-only memory are the unsigned function values of the first half-quadrant of the cosine function in the direction of increasing arguments and of the second half-quadrant in the direction of decreasing arguments, respectively. The number of bits of the argument is greater than the number of bits of the function values, including the sign bit, by two. By skillful inversion of the addresses and the read-out function values using multiple-inverter blocks in conjunction with multiple-switch units sine- and cosine-function values can be generated for all four quadrants both in the one's and in the two's complement code. If the argument is formed by an accumulator fed with the frequency determining digital word, the digital circuit is a digital sine-/cosine-wave oscillator.

  • Patent number: 4827267
Abstract: A solid state radar transmitter pulse modulator system capable of generating high power operating pulses having pulse width and pulse repetition rate agility and being programmable for output pulse current over a substantial range of peak current values to produce corresponding values of transmitter output power. A multi-stage cascade cross-field amplifier (CFA RF chain) is employed, each stage having its own pulse modulator comprised of one or more standard modules paralleled at the output to drive the corresponding CFA stage provides fail-soft operation. Means are included for protecting solid state circuits in the event of CFA or other component failures, for dynamically matching CFA and pulse transformer impedances, and for preventing BH curve "walk-up" during operation.

  • Patent number: 4822994
Abstract: There is disclosed a small arms sight assembly which enables a firearm such as a revolver or rifle to be employed for both nighttime and daytime use. The gun sight assembly includes a typical telescopic sight assembly of a conventional design which sight assembly includes an image intensifier module which can be selectively removed from the telescopic sight. The intensifier module or assembly when employed in conjunction with the remaining sight components enables the user to operate the weapon under low light conditions. During daytime operation the intensifier module housing section is removed. In this manner there is described a sight which enables a small weapon to be employed for daytime or nighttime use while providing increased effective weapon range when compared to conventional sight devices.

  • Patent number: 4823020
Abstract: A high voltage pulse clipper for stabilizing the amplitude of successive pulses applied, for example, as modulator pulses to a microwave transmitter. A source of such pulses has its output connected across a capacitor through a series diode whereby the capacitor charge acts as a back bias for the diode. • Patent number: 4819433
Abstract: The hydraulic brake system having at least one wheel brake is adapted to be pressurized by a master brake cylinder actuated by a hydraulic power booster. An auxiliary pressure is adjustable in a pressure chamber of the hydraulic power booster by means of a brake valve. Interposed between an auxiliary pressure source and the brake valve is a pressure-reducing valve that is controllable by the auxiliary pressure and contains a valve controlling a passageway, the valve being acted upon by the auxiliary pressure to open the passageway. To simplify the construction of the pressure-reducing valve, the closure member of the valve is exposed to the reduced pressure in the pressure-reducing valve such that a force related to the valve seat surface will be exerted on the closure member in the closing direction of the passageway of the pressure-reducing valve.

  • Patent number: 4820199
Abstract: An electrical connector adapter is disclosed having front and rear insulators with corresponding contact cavities therein which are slightly laterally offset from each other. The contacts have intermediate bendable portions. One of the insulators is formed of a resilient material. After one end of the contacts are mounted in the other insulator, the contact cavities in the resilient insulator are expanded to slidably receive the other ends of the contacts therein. The expansive force is then released causing the resilient insulator to contract around the contacts therein to automatically bend the intermediate portions of the contacts to accommodate for the lateral offset of the contact cavities in the front and rear insulators.

  • Patent number: 4819544
Abstract: In a two-stage reaction device for vacuum brake boosters, the clearance at the piston rod will be reduced by the piston rod acting directly on the valve piston which comprises a head portion connected via a neck portion at its end close to the vacuum chamber. The head portion and the rear end surface of the valve piston contain abutment surfaces which cooperate with levers. The levers, in turn, are moved by the push rod coupled to the master cylinder via a fork-like shaped pressure member with prong-shaped attachments. In this arrangement, one end of each lever is held resiliently between a supporting ring and a spring plate, with the supporting ring including edges about which the levers are tiltable when the pressure member acts on the other ends of the levers.

  • Patent number: 4817764
Abstract: A spot-type disc brake with a floating-caliper comprises a brake support member and a brake caliper that is arranged at the wheel axle in a manner slidable parallel to the brake disc axis by a single guide element (5,6) includes brake shoes which are replaceable tangentially relative to the brake disc. The brake support member is constructed in the shape of a retaining element which is arranged on one side of the brake disc parallel to the disc and which may be constructed integrally with the wheel axle. The brake shoes are retained either on the disc entry side in the brake caliper (2) or on the disc exit side at the brake support member (1) or in the brake caliper by retaining elements. On the side opposite to the retaining elements, i.e. on the disc entry side or on the disc exit side, the brake shoes are supported in the brake caliper.

  • Patent number: 4817463
Abstract: An electric brake cable tensioning device is disclosed including a planetary gear train driven by a motor driven worm gear and a friction brake for holding a sun gear of the gear train against rotation during torque input. The cable is attached to a planet gear of the gear train which moves around the braked sun gear and pulls the cable in tension. The worm gear and braked sun gear hold the planet gear and cable in the tensioned position. Cable tension is released upon release of the sun gear whereupon the planet gear moves back to the untensioned position.
