Patent number: 5894219Abstract: A device for determining rotary motions generally includes a signal generator with inwardly directed teeth or inwardly directed projections and a double-sided measuring coil which is arranged within the surface of the signal generator. The measuring coil has a core of permanent magnets and pole shoes. The pole shoes project from both sides of the coil and extend up to the inner surface of the signal generator. The pole shoes are designed, arranged and conformed to one another so that, whenever the end piece of a pole shoe points to a tooth or a projection, the second, diametrically opposite end of the pole shoe is directed to a tooth gap or depression. The measuring coil core is made up of at least two permanent magnets which are magnetized perpendicularly to the coil axis and respectively embedded between two pole shoes.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 1997Date of Patent: April 13, 1999Assignee: ITT Manufacturing Enterprises Inc.Inventors: Andre F. Patent number: 5890512Abstract: High pressure natural gas enters the regulator at the inlet port and is directed through a filter to a passage in the valve body and into the inner chamber of the valve body. The valve means which controls the high pressure gas as it expands past a valve seat and into the low pressure chamber of the regulator body, is spring mounted in a bushing to prevent undesired vibrations. The expanded and colder low pressure natural gas is directed through a nozzle to the outlet port of the regulator body. The outlet port has a bypass orifice that leads to the diaphragm chamber. Pressure variations in the diaphragm chamber control the movement of the valve means coupled to the diaphragm means.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1995Date of Patent: April 6, 1999Assignees: ITT Corporation, Ford Motor CompanyInventors: Jeffrey Bryan Gotthelf, Charles Walter Otap, Edward W. Patent number: 5890930Abstract: A connector system is described wherein the most vulnerable parts of the front mating ends of a pair of connectors can be easily replaced in the field. The first connector (12, FIG. 2) includes a shell (20), a main insulator (22) within the shell, and main contacts (24) lying in the main insulator and having socket front ends (30). A first insert module (32) has an insert insulator (36) and insert contacts (38) with pin type rear ends. The first module is inserted into the shell of the first connector to mate with the main contacts. Patent number: 5887957Abstract: A circuit arrangement for a brake system with electronic brake force distribution control includes circuits which determine the deceleration of the rear wheels and the deceleration of a vehicle or a corresponding reference quantity. The discrepancy of the filtered rear-wheel deceleration from the vehicle deceleration is evaluated for brake force distribution control. To this end, an output signal is produced by way of a differentiator and integrator comparing the rear-wheel deceleration and the vehicle deceleration, and the output signal is evaluated for the control of the braking pressure in the rear-wheel brakes.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1997Date of Patent: March 30, 1999Assignee: ITT Automotive Europe GmbHInventors: Hans-Joachim Buttner, Dieter Burkhard, Norbert Ehmer

Patent number: 5884207Abstract: The present invention describes a process for a vehicle including an electronic control system, which processes input signals representative of the rotational behavior of the individual wheels, and wherein the differences of the tire tread circumferences of the individual wheels are determined by way of short-time and long-time correction factors. The long-time correction factors LZ.sub.n. are determined from the differences D.sub.R1 between the short-time correction factors KZ.sub.R1 and the long-time correction factors LZ.sub.R1 of the respective wheel by averaging LM.sub.r1 the differences during a predetermined time interval and by evaluating and weighting the average value. For the quick identification of an emergency wheel, every time the vehicle engine is started, the long-time factor LZ.sub.R1 is equalled once to the short-time factor KZ.sub.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1997Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: ITT Manufacturing Enterprises Inc.Inventors: Dieter Burkhard, Manfred Dornseiff, Jean-Claude Schwartz
