Abstract: A medical container (1) includes a bag-like container body (10) made up of two flexible sheets (12a, 12b). At least one of a pair of long-side sealed areas (11La, 11Lb) formed by the two sheets being bonded together is provided with a sealed protruding portion (20a, 21a, 20b, 21b) protruding toward the other long-side sealed area such that the spacing between the pair of long-side sealed areas is locally narrowed. A crease (30a, 31a, 30b, 31b) passing through the sealed protruding portion is formed in the sheets when a liquid substance has been injected into the container body in a volume greater than or equal to 10% of a defined volume of the container body and the medical container is hung. Accordingly, it is possible to know the exact amount of a liquid substance in the container by using a scale provided on the sheets constituting the container even if a crease is formed in the sheets due to the liquid substance being in the container.

  • Patent number: 7718556
Abstract: A medical film that is excellent in biocompatibility and bioabsorbability and has an excellent strength in suturing and bonding is provided. A reinforcing material 12 made of a biodegradable polymer is placed in a gelatin solution so as to allow the solution to infiltrate in the reinforcing material 12 and then the gelatin is dried. This allows the gelatin that has infiltrated entirely in an internal part of the reinforcing material 12 to gel, thereby forming a gelatin film 11. Thus, a medical film 1 in which the reinforcing material 12 and the gelatin film 11 are integrated is obtained. The gelatin film 11 preferably is a cross-linked gelatin film.

  • Patent number: 7704224
Abstract: A peritoneal function testing method of using a ratio MTACun/MTACc calculated using MTACun and MTACc as an index for a peritoneal function test. MTACun is an overall mass transfer-area coefficient for urea nitrogen and MTACc is an overall mass transfer-area coefficient for creatinine. Use of the MTACun/MTACc ratio enables examination of the future peritoneal function of a patient (a mechanism of deterioration in peritoneal function). MTACun and MTACc are obtained using a Pyle-Popovich model. The peritoneal function testing method further calculates a permeability coefficient for cell pores (LPSC) and an overall permeability coefficient (LPS) from a Three-Pore Theory model to obtain a ratio LPSC/LPS calculated using the LPSC and the LPS, and further uses the LPSC/LPS ratio and the MTACun/MTACc ratio as indexes for the peritoneal function test.
