Abstract: A vehicle steering system, in which a steering member and steered wheels are not mechanically coupled to each other, includes a rotation angle restriction mechanism that restricts a rotation angle of the steering member within a restricted angular range. In a failure mode, that is, in a case where a malfunction occurs in a steering angle sensor, a steering direction is detected on the basis of a strain of the rotation angle restriction mechanism, which is detected by one of strain gauges at a corresponding one of a pair of terminal ends of a restricted angular range. Drive control is executed on a steered system actuator on the basis of the detected steering direction.

  • Publication number: 20130253773
Abstract: An ECU controls the operation of an EPS actuator in order to periodically apply instantaneous motor torque to a steering system when assist continuation control is executed using a sensor signal (residual sensor signal) that is output by a sensor element in which an abnormality has not been detected, regardless of the application of an assist force. The ECU also detects an abnormality in the residual sensor signal based on whether the application of instantaneous motor torque is reflected in the residual sensor signal, which is the basis of the assist continuation control.

  • Publication number: 20130248640
Abstract: A web winding apparatus comprises a cutter, a web pressing member and a roller which are movable together between two bobbins supported respectively by two rotational center members. The cutter cuts a web being transferred, the web pressing member presses an end portion of the web cut with the cutter on the bobbin being empty, and the roller transfers the web being transferred to come, toward the bobbins. The apparatus further comprises two peripheral covers independently turnable around the rotational center members and respectively covering parts of outer peripheral surfaces of the webs wound on the two bobbins. Each of the peripheral covers respectively having circumferential openings is turnable selectively to a first position to direct the circumferential opening toward the roller and a second position to partition the bobbin side covered thereby and the roller side.

  • Publication number: 20130249453
Abstract: Three-phase resolver signals that are output from a resolver upon reception of an excitation signal are captured by a microcomputer. The microcomputer computes a rotation angle of an electric motor on the basis of the three-phase resolver signals. The ratio between an excitation period of the excitation signal and a capturing period of each of the three-phase resolver signals is set to 8:5. A computation period of the rotation angle is set to half of the least common multiple of the excitation period of the excitation signal and the capturing period of each resolver signal.

  • Publication number: 20130253772
Abstract: In normal times, a rotation angle restriction mechanism in a first state restricts a rotation angle of a steering member within a first rotation angular range. In the event of a failure, that is, when there is a malfunction in a steering angle sensor, the rotation angle restriction mechanism is switched into a second state by an electromagnetic clutch, and the rotation angle of the steering member is restricted within a second rotation angular range. A steering direction is detected on the basis of at which one of a pair of terminal ends of the second rotation angular range, the steering member is located. An ECU executes drive control on a steering system actuator on the basis of the detected steering direction.

  • Patent number: 8541965
Abstract: A command current setting portion has a target value corrector that calculates d-axis and q-axis current command values idc, iqc that are to be supplied to an open-loop controller, based on d-axis and q-axis current target values id*, iq*. When d-axis and q-axis voltage target value vd*, vq* calculated from the d-axis and q-axis current target values id*, iq* by the motor circuit equations exceed a voltage limit, this target value corrector 26 corrects the d-axis and q-axis current target values id*, iq* by the field weakening control such that d-axis and q-axis voltages vd, vq and d-axis and q-axis currents id, iq satisfy ?(vd2+vq2)?Vlim and ?(id2+iq2)?Ilim respectively. The d-axis and q-axis current command values idc, iqc are obtained by this correction.

  • Publication number: 20130245829
Abstract: A CPU of a robot control device calculates load torque based on the inertia force, centrifugal force or Coriolis force, gravity force, friction torque, and actuator inertia torque applied to a joint axis of each link, each time an orientation parameter indicative of the link position and orientation allowed by a redundant degree of freedom is sequentially changed, under a constraint of end-effector position and orientation as target values. The CPU obtains the link position and orientation at which the ratio of the load torque to the rated torque of a rotary actuator provided for each joint is minimized, while the orientation parameter is being changed, and provides a feed-forward value that gives rise to each load torque obtained when the ratio of the load torque to the rated torque of the rotary actuator is minimized, to a control command generated to the rotary actuator of each joint axis for achieving the end-effector position and orientation as target values.
