Patent number: 8037964Abstract: When stopping operation of an electric power steering apparatus, a motor relay is kept in an on-state even after a power supply relay is in an off-state. A drive control portion sets a target value of a d-axis current to a value other than zero and sets a target value of a q-axis current to zero, and performs a processing same as that at the time of rotating a motor. MOS-FETs contained in a motor driving circuit are controlled such that each of driving currents of the two phases or more is not zero and the brushless motor does not rotate even supplied with these driving currents. Electric charge accumulated in a capacitor is discharged via the MOS-FETs each in an on-state, a motor relay and the windings of the brushless motor. The electric charge accumulated in the capacitor may be discharged via the excitation coil of the motor relay.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2007Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignees: JTEKT Corporation, Koyo Electronics Industries Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shigeki Nagase, Takeshi Ueda, Akira Sugimoto, Kimihito Chino

Patent number: 8038561Abstract: A chain is provided with a plurality of links, and connecting members for connecting those links such that the links are relatively bendable to each other. A first pin of the connecting member is clamped between pulleys thereby to transmit the power between itself and said pulleys. The chain includes a central area with respect to chain width directions, and side areas located on the sides of the central area. In the central area, links adjoining in the chain width directions are pushed to contact with each other, and rotate relative to each other while exerting frictional forces on each other as the chain is bent. In each of the side areas, the links adjoining in the chain width directions are arrayed through a predetermined clearance.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2007Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignee: JTEKT CorporationInventor: Shinji Yasuhara

Patent number: 8038417Abstract: In an electric pump unit, communication between arcuate ports provided in correspondence with a discharge side and a suction side of an internal gear pump is selectively permitted and prohibited in correspondence with movement of a spool of a relief valve. If fluid pressure at the discharge side of the internal gear pump becomes greater than or equal to a predetermined value, the spool moves across an inner arc of one of the arcuate ports corresponding to the suction side of the internal gear pump and from a position at which the spool prohibits the communication between the arcuate ports to a position at which the spool permits the communication. As the spool moves away from the position at which the spool blocks the communication between the arcuate ports, the opening degree of the relief valve changes in accordance with a downward convex curve.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2008Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignee: JTEKT CorporationInventors: Ikuo Yamamoto, Takatoshi Sakata

Patent number: 8033278Abstract: A plurality of segmented chips are reinforced by applying an adhesive to the circumferentially opposite end portions thereof, and the adjoining segmented chips adjoining in the circumferential direction are adhered to the circumferential surface of a disc-like core with the adhesives at the circumferentially opposite end portions being not jointed with each other. Thus, the segmented chips can be prevented from being loaded with an unnatural force even when the disc-like core with the segmented chips adhered thereto expands and contracts radially due to thermal expansion and thermal contract. Thereby, expansion and contraction of the disc-like core do not impose a compression stress or the like on adhesives situated between adjoining segmented chips.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2006Date of Patent: October 11, 2011Assignees: Toyoda Van Moppes Ltd., JTEKT CorporationInventors: Masato Kitajima, Kunihiko Unno, Hiroshi Takehara, Takuma Kono, Shinji Soma
