  • Patent number: 7493985
Abstract: In an electric power steering system providing steering assist by applying a power of an electric motor to a steering mechanism via a reduction mechanism, the steering mechanism extending from a steering member to dirigible wheels, a grease (viscous material) is applied to a meshing engagement portion between teeth portions disposed on a motor-power transmission path extending from the electric motor to the steering mechanism via the reduction mechanism, the grease having a viscosity constant C satisfying 0.8 J?p?C where J denotes the inertia of the electric motor, and cop denotes the resonant angular frequency of the steering mechanism including the electric motor and the reduction mechanism. This provides for the prevention of the occurrence of rattling noises caused by a vibration system including the reduction mechanism and the electric motor and the degradation of the steering feeling.

  • Patent number: 7491683
Abstract: Bismuth dithiocarbamate (BiDTC) is added to a urea grease containing a lubricating base oil having a poly-?-olefin synthetic oil or a diphenyl ether synthetic oil and a diurea thickening agent, or a fluorine grease containing a lubricating base oil having fluorinated synthetic oil and a polytetrafluoroethylene thickening agent. By taking such constitution as described above, a surface film is formed on a surface of a raceway of any one of inner and outer rings or a surface of a rolling element of a bearing. Therefore, the rolling bearing in which a grease composition having the constitution is packed can maintain an excellent lubricity for a long period of time even under severe conditions such as a high rotation, a high temperature and a heavy load. Further, the grease composition for the rolling bearing is low in harmfulness to a human body and gives little load to the environment.

  • Patent number: 7490690
Abstract: A control device is provided for electrically controlling a drive power transmission device arranged on a driving power transmission path of a front-and rear wheel drive vehicle thereby to switch the drive mode of the vehicle selectively to either of a two-wheel drive mode and a four-wheel drive mode. The control device inhibits the drive mode from being switched to that commanded to be switched to when the vehicle is traveling at a slower speed than a predetermined speed and when the rotational speed difference between front and rear wheels is larger than a predetermined value. Further, the control device gradually decreases a present torque which the driving power transmission device is transmitting before the switching of the drive mode, to a target torque which the drive power transmission device is to transmit after the switching of the drive mode, when the difference between the present and target torques is more than another predetermined valve at the time of the switching of the drive mode.

  • Patent number: 7488134
Abstract: A shaft body has an engagement portion with a slip-off preventing groove, and a positioning recess extending from the engagement portion. A shaft joint having an engagement groove to be engaged with the engagement portion and a bore facing the engagement groove is provided with a flexible member which is provided on an outer side in a longitudinal direction of the engagement groove to be engaged with the positioning recess. When an insufficient amount of engagement prevents engagement in the correct position, the engagement portion contacts with the flexible member and prevents the shaft body from engaging with the shaft joint. When canceling the coupling for maintenance, etc., the engagement of the flexible member with the positioning recess is cancelled by deflecting the flexible member in a width direction of the engagement groove. Consequently, the shaft body can be easily pulled out in a longitudinal direction of the engagement groove.

  • Publication number: 20090033172
Abstract: A manufacturing method for a brush that can reduce contact surface area between a commutator and the brush, thereby reducing frictional noise, is provided. Specifically, a method to manufacture a brush, which provides one surface with contact surfaces that make sliding contact with the commutator, involves a step to mold a molded body and a step to cut the molded body. In the molding process, carbon powder containing copper powder is sintered to form a molded body having a groove on the top surface along the direction of the axis of rotation of the commutator, and curved surface margins in the margins of the top surface in the direction of the axis of rotation. In the cutting step, the central part of the top surface of the molded body is cut by a grinding stone along the cutting direction to form contact surfaces between the margins of the top surface.
