  • Patent number: 7434839
Abstract: There is provided a collapsible steering apparatus, which includes a steering column having a movable part capable of moving upon collision of a vehicle. The main part of a bracket is fixed to the movable part. Extended pieces are extended from the main part, and each extended piece is folded back into a U shape to superimpose the extension end of the bent extended piece on the main part. A fixing member is inserted into each insertion hole of the main part and of the extension end of the extended piece, and is fixed to a vehicle body member. As a result, the extension end is fixed to the vehicle body member. The insertion hole of the main part includes an open part for allowing the fixing member to come off upon collision. Upon collision, the main part of the bracket and the base end of the extended piece move along with the movable part. As a result, the base end and the extension end of the extended piece move relative to each other to deform the extended piece to absorb the impact of the collision.

  • Patent number: 7434652
Abstract: An oil pressure regulating valve of rotary type comprising a valve body and a valve spool is constructed inside a housing having a cylindrical shape. An oil supply port for supplying pressure oil fed from an oil pressure generation source is formed at a position having an offset toward one side relative to the center axis of the housing. A communicating hole in a deep inside of the oil supply port in communication with the inside of the housing is an elongate hole which is long in the direction of offset. As a result, in a hydraulic power steering apparatus, flow sound is reduced effectively that is generated when the pressure oil fed from the oil pressure generation source is supplied to the oil pressure regulating valve inside the housing. Accordingly, quiet operation is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20080246358
Abstract: The control device displaces the main shaft in the axial direction and in the radial direction within the range of the gap between the rib member of the main shaft and the axial magnetic bearing and the gap between the main shaft and the radial magnetic bearings, by controlling the attraction forces of the axial electromagnets and the radial electromagnets, whereby the main shaft can be positioned. By controlling the axial magnetic. bearing and the radial magnetic bearings, it becomes possible to freely displace only the main shaft in the axial direction and in the radial direction, and therefore, the main shaft can be positioned at high speed and with high precision. Moreover, there is no necessity of providing the feeding mechanism in which the ball screw mechanism and linear motor etc. are employed for the purpose of displacing the magnetic bearing spindle device, and hence, reduction of the production cost for the grinding apparatus can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 7431117
Abstract: A steering control apparatus for an automotive vehicle is provided with s steering control system 41 that comprises a detected steering angle calculating section for calculating a detected steering angle ?j based on a variation of a motor rotational angle detected by a motor rotational angle sensor 25. An electric motor 19 is connected to a steering wheel 33 through a reduction mechanism. As the motor rotational angle sensor 25 is provided on the the electric motor 19, resolution of the detected steering angle ?j calculated based on the variation of the motor rotational angle becomes higher than that in the prior art, and thereby it becomes possible that the steered wheels are steered under the stable positioning control. Further, as the motor rotational angle sensor 25 is originally provided on the electric motor 19, the size and cost of the apparatus is restrained from being large and high.

  • Patent number: 7433767
Abstract: A first system and a second system include a first motor and a second motor for driving a steering mechanism in dependence on the rotational manipulation of a steering wheel. A first ECU and a second ECU mutually monitor abnormalities of the systems each to stop an abnormal system. When the respective systems are normal, the first ECU and the second ECU drivingly control the first motor and the second motor of their own systems to drive the steering mechanism by cooperation of the respective motors. When either one of the both systems is abnormal, the ECU of the other system solely drivingly controls the motor of its own system thereby to drive the steering mechanism. Thus, it can be realized to make the systems low in cost irrespective of the provision of the plural systems.

  • Publication number: 20080240641
Abstract: The clearance between the outer peripheral surface of an annular portion of a cage and the inner peripheral surface of each of rib portions of outer-ring split pieces is set to be smaller than the clearance between the radial end surface of a projection portion of the cage and the inner peripheral surface of each of body portions of the outer-ring split pieces. When a centrifugal force due to engine rotation acts upon the cage, the inner peripheral surface of each of the rib portions of the outer-ring split pieces touches the outer peripheral surface of the annular portion of the cage before the inner peripheral surface of each of the body portions of the outer-ring split pieces touches the radial end surface of the projection portion of the cage. Thus, the radial displacement of the cage can be prevented in good time.

  • Publication number: 20080243341
Abstract: A steered shaft of a steered mechanism is rigidly fixed to a vehicle body. Steering-stiffness is reduced by a lowpass filter for filtering a steered angle detected by a steered angle sensor. A deviation between a target steered angle and the filtered steered angle detected by the steered angle sensor is input to a PID control unit. A gain setting unit sets each of gains for PID control at a low value to thereby reduce steering-stiffness. The PID control unit outputs a target current. A drive circuit performs, e.g., PID control of the steering actuator.
