  • Patent number: 11329705
Abstract: Beamformers and beamforming methods involve diagonal loading (regularization). Significant features include the automatic determination of the regularization parameter using a linearly constrained minimum power (LCMP) bounded perturbation regularization (BPR) approach. More specifically, the method has the advantage of efficient beamforming when the desired signal is from a moving source. After determining an initial regularization parameter, each data window (i.e., snapshot) uses the regularization parameter of the prior window to recursively determine the next regularization parameter.

  • Patent number: 11320467
Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling power supplied to a plurality of appliances on a power line. Poly phase power measurements are collected from the power line by a dedicated energy metering chip are sampled at frequencies in the range of 0 kilo samples per second to 32 kilo samples per second and converted to digital power measurements. The digital power measurements are received by a real-time microcontroller. The poly phase power measurements are analyzed in real time, the poly phase power measurements are disaggregated, and a power report regarding a power usage of each appliance is generated by a computer processing unit, CPU. A power report is transmitted to a mobile application, power on/off commands for each appliance are received from the mobile application, and each appliance is powered on/off based on the power on/off commands.

  • Patent number: 11322831
Abstract: The radar cross section (RCS) of a vehicle/antenna combination is reduced by using an antenna and ground plane which are of substantially the same area, and using a frequency selective surface (FSS) in the regions on the periphery of the ground plain where the FSS is designed to be transparent and thereby pass out-of-band frequencies, while reflecting one or more operating frequencies of the antenna. A multilayer absorber below the FSS absorbs the out-of-band frequencies that a larger ground plane may have otherwise reflected to the body of the vehicle to which the antenna is mounted.

  • Patent number: 11323043
Abstract: A single-phase hybrid multilevel inverter capable of producing a higher number of output voltage levels using fewer power switches and DC voltage sources compared to existing multilevel inverters. The levels are synthesized by switching the DC voltage sources in series/parallel combinations. An auxiliary circuit is introduced to double the number of levels by creating an intermediate step in between two levels. In addition, a zero level is introduced to overcome the inherent absence of this level in the original circuit. To improve the total harmonic distortion, a hybrid modulation technique is utilized. A 300 W, a thirteen level multilevel inverter (including the zero level) was designed and constructed. The circuit was tested with a no-load, resistive load and resistive-inductive load. The experimental results closely match simulated and mathematical analyses.

  • Patent number: 11319382
Abstract: Chicken egg yolk antibodies (IgY Abs) specific to the Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus spike (MERS-CoV S) protein demonstrate efficacy against MERS-CoV infection. The S-specific IgY Abs (anti-S IgY) are produced by injecting chickens with purified a recombinant MERS-CoV S protein, S1 subunit, or an S1 fragment. The purified anti-S IgY specifically bind to the MERS-CoV S protein and inhibit infection. In vitro neutralization of the IgY Abs against MERS-CoV was achieved in cell lines and in a human-transgenic mouse model treated with a pharmaceutical composition comprising the anti-S IgY. Viral antigen-positive cells in treated mice were reduced, compared to the adjuvant-only controls. Moreover, lung cells of anti-S IgY-treated mice showed significantly reduced inflammation, compared to the controls. Efficient neutralization of MERS-CoV infection is demonstrated both in vitro and in vivo using the anti-S IgY Abs.
