Abstract: A change-speed apparatus in a tractor equipped with an engine has a planetary gearing mechanism settable between its two positions. Actuation of the mechanism to one of the two positions is hydraulically power-actuated, while actuation to the other of the two positions is automatically effected, as the hydraulic power is released, by a resiliently urging spring. Power-transmitting operative connection is therefore always maintained between the engine and running-drive wheels even when the hydraulic actuation power comes to extinct.
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a walking bar member for continuous casting from an elongated tubular metal blank by heating the blank at a temperature of 550.degree. to 1250.degree. C., subjecting the heated blank to plastic working which achieves a working ratio of up to 65% or a flattening ratio of over 1 but not greater than 3.0 to flatten the blank into a tubular body by compression over the entire length thereof, and machining a surface of the tubular body at the side thereof to be brought into contact with a slab to smooth the surface and provide a reduced wall thickness, the working ratio and the flattening ratio being represented by (D-H)/D.times.100 and W/H, respectively, wherein D is the outside diameter of the blank before the plastic working, H is the minor diameter of the tubular body after the plastic working, and W is the major diameter of the tubular body after the plastic working.
Abstract: A fruit harvesting apparatus in which the positions of fruit are searched and detected by a television camera with a variable shooting direction. Both the television camera and a spot light emitting device, such as a laser, are varied in position and direction in accordance with instructions to locate a fruit. A movable fruit picker is then moved to the determined position of the fruit and operated to pick the fruit.
Abstract: A gearing transmission has two operatively different sets of planetary transmission apparatuses and is adapted to enable speed changing in six steps in the forward running travel and in two steps in the rearward running travel. The two operatively different sets of planetary transmission apparatuses have only one common internal-tooth gear and only one common spider.
Abstract: A travelling transmission case and a differential transmission case are respectively connected to the upper and lower portions of a vertically long-shape speed reduction case. Thus, the distance between the lowest level of the travelling transmission case and the ground is increased.
Abstract: A rotary cultivating apparatus wherein a tiller frame having a rotary tiller unit is laterally shiftable relative to a fixed frame having connecting portions for a vehicle and a power input shaft. A mechanism for laterally shifting the tiller frame comprises a transmission gear member mounted on a transmission shaft for the tiller unit and having an inner gear and an outer gear, a shifting screw rod reversibly rotatable by the transmission gear member through intermediate gears, and an internally threaded member fixed to tiller frame and in screw-thread engagement with the screw rod. One of the intermediate gears is selectively meshable with the transmission gear member to shift the tiller frame laterally in either direction by utilizing the power for driving the tine shaft of the tiller unit.

Abstract: An engine has a load detector, or more specifically a threshold load comparator, and also detectors for sensing any abnormality of various factors influencing the normal engine operation. When no abnormality is sensed, the engine is made to operate automatically at a low speed level when the engine load is below the threshold value, and at a high speed level when the load is beyond such value. When any abnormality is sensed, then the engine is emergently halted in a fail-safe manner, thus any damaging disorder in controling circuitry for effecting such emergent halting leads in itself to emergent halting of the engine as well.
