Abstract: The present invention is directed to water-resistant compositions comprising: a reaction product of at least one heterocyclic compound chosen from thiolactone compounds and their thiocarbonyl analogs, and lactam compounds and their thiocarbonyl analogs; and at least one compound having a functional group chosen from an amino group and a hydroxyl group; and optionally, at least one carrier. These water-resistant compositions are capable of providing or acting as a carrier for delivering benefits to various substrates, for example, keratinous substrates such as skin and hair, while at the same time, imparting durable or long lasting hydrophobicity and/or a protective barrier onto said substrates.

Abstract: A method for suppressing noise of a first signal captured via a primary microphone is provided. A primary and a reference microphone are arranged on a communication device to capture noise and intermittent speech. A determination is made whether the first signal comprises non-stationary signal components or substantially stationary noise, and whether the first signal comprises substantially far-field noise in case it was determined that it comprises non-stationary signal components. A noise power spectrum estimate of the first signal is updated with a stationary noise power spectrum estimate if the first signal is considered to comprise substantially stationary noise or a far-field noise power spectrum estimate if the first signal is considered to comprise substantially far-field noise. A frequency response is computed on the basis of the estimated noise power spectrum. Noise from the first signal is suppressed by applying the frequency response on the first signal.

Abstract: An apparatus and process for separating air by cryogenic distillation includes a heat exchanger, a column system having at least one cryogenic distillation column, a conduit for supplying the column system with cooled air from the heat exchanger, a storage tank, a conduit for removing a liquid from the column system and sending it to the storage tank, at least one pump, at least one conduit for sending pumped liquid from the outlet of the or each pump to the heat exchanger, at least one conduit connected to the outlet of the pump or at least one outlet of at least one pump and to a column of the column system, said conduit passing directly to the column without passing via the storage tank.

Abstract: When data retransmission is used to handle errors caused by impulse noise, buffer memory requirements may be reduced and/or data rate increased by detecting impulse noise at the transmitting equipment and initiating retransmission in response to such detection rather than waiting for a retransmission indication from the receiving end. The decision to retransmit may be made dependent on the strength or other properties of the detected noise burst. The decision criterion may be made adaptive by correlating noise burst properties with received retransmission indications or the absence thereof.

Abstract: A method is provided of performing a session transfer with Single Radio Voice Call Continuity, SRVCC, from a Packet Switched, PS, access to a Circuit Switched, CS, access of a telecommunications session that has been established over the PS access via an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network. A request for the transfer of the session is received. An indication of a voice codec that is currently being used for the session is obtained from the IMS network. Allocation of resources for the session in the CS access network is initiated, including specifying the voice codec to be used based on the obtained codec indication. Transfer of the session to the CS access is initiated so that the session continues with use of the specified voice codec.

Abstract: One subject of the present invention is a dye composition comprising benzyl alcohol, at least one C1-C4 monoalcohol and at least one anthraquinone direct dye of formula (I) or azomethine direct dye of formula (II). The composition of the invention makes it possible to obtain colourings that are intense and resistant.

Abstract: A radio system having multi-standard mixed mode radios is described. The mixed mode radios are used to support combining of digital baseband from a first and a second radio equipment controller. A primary clock associated with the first radio equipment controller and a secondary clock associated with the second radio equipment controller is provided. The quality of the primary clock is evaluated and the primary clock is referenced to the first radio equipment controller if the clock is determined to have appropriate quality factors. The quality of the secondary clock is then evaluated and the secondary clock is referenced to the second radio equipment controller if the secondary clock is determined to have appropriate quality factors. The second radio equipment controller is then referenced to the primary clock once the primary and secondary clocks are aligned.

Abstract: A process of assembly by direct bonding of a first and second element, each having a surface including copper portions separated by a dielectric material, the process includes: polishing the surfaces such that the surfaces to be assembled allow assembly by bonding; forming a diffusion barrier selectively in copper portions of the first and second elements, wherein the surface of the diffusion barrier of the first and second elements is level with the surface, to within less than 5 nanometers; and bringing the two surfaces into contact, such that the copper portions of one surface cover at least partly the copper portions of the other surface, and such that direct bonding is obtained between the surfaces.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method an apparatus for predistorting an input signal to compensate for non-linearities in an electronic device that operates on the input signal. The invention may be used, for example, to digitally predistort an input signal for a power amplifier in a wireless communication device. The predistorter uses a polynomial approach based on the well-known Volterra series to model the distortion function. A dynamic deviation reduction technique is used to reduce the number of terms in the distortion model and to facilitate implementation. The approach described herein eliminates square functions present in prior art designs and can be implemented using CORDIC circuits.

Abstract: A technique for introducing a real-time congestion status in a Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) policy decision in a cellular network is presented. A method embodiment performed by the PCRF comprises the steps of obtaining, from one of a Policy Charging Enforcement Function (PCEF) and a database, at least one cell identifier; sending, to a Performance Manager network element, a request for checking congestion status, the request comprising the at least one cell identifier; receiving, from the Performance Manager network element, a retrieved congestion status for the at least one cell identifier; generating at least one of a QoS Class Identifier and a QoS Profile based on the at least one cell identifier and the received congestion status; and sending, to the PCEF, a message comprising the at least one of the Class Identifier and QoS Profile.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a high-power femtosecond pulsed laser, the laser including: a source able to generate a train of input laser pulses having an envelope frequency and a carrier frequency; a chirped pulse amplification unit; and, a unit for controlling the phase drift between the envelope frequency and the carrier frequency of the output laser pulses. According to the invention, the unit for controlling the phase drift between the envelope frequency and the carrier frequency includes electro-optical phase-modulation unit that are placed on an optical path of the chirped pulse amplification unit in order to stabilize the phase drift between the envelope frequency and the carrier frequency of the output laser pulses as a function of time.

The method comprises the steps of: receiving a request to process a task; determining a temperature status of branches in the hierarchical tree topology, wherein the temperature status of a branch is related to the temperature of a processing unit coupled to the branch; and allocating the task to one or more processing units, based on the temperature status of the branches in the hierarchical tree topology.

Abstract: Methods and arrangements in video handling entities for transforming an MVC bit stream to an AVC bit stream and vice versa. The methods and arrangements involve modification of reference data in an obtained bit stream and thus transforming the bit stream into another format. The suggested solution is a low complexity procedure, and thus much faster than e.g. transcoding of a bit stream into another format.
