    Abstract: Teachings presented herein offer the performance advantages of sequence estimation for received signal symbol detection, while simultaneously providing potentially significant reductions in computational overhead. Initial demodulation of a received signal identifies a reduced number of candidate symbol values for all or a subset of a sequence of symbols represented in a received signal. A sequence estimation process, e.g., an MLSE process, constrains its state spaces to the reduced number of candidate symbols values, rather than considering all possible symbol values.

The controller facilitates optimized routing across the plurality of areas of the split architecture network by providing limited intra-area link cost data to other controllers of other areas of the split architecture network and to traditional routers of a network including the split architecture network. The limited intra-area link cost data provides costs of each possible shortest path traversal of the area of the controller without providing all internal link cost data.

    Abstract: User grouping is employed to tradeoff the COMP forward link capacity and required reverse link feedback, which makes the design of COMP practical and flexible. A channel element, such as the large scale fading, is measured for each distributed transmitter and UE pair based on reference signals, and the network receives this information as feedback in the reverse link. The COMP determines a maximum cross interference level ?req that is affordable, based on the available reverse link capacity for feedback. If this maximum cross interference level ?req is exceeded, geographically separate UEs are divided into as few groups as possible, with UEs within each group separated, and the groups are allocated different time/frequency resource blocks. The grouping is done with the constraint that the cross interference does not exceed ?req.

    Abstract: A removable device such as a stent-graft, intended for applications where it may be desirable to remove the device at some time following implantation. The stent-graft of the present invention includes a helically-wound stent component provided with a covering of graft material. It is removable by gripping an end of the helically-wound stent component with a retrieval device and applying tension to the stent component in the direction in which it is intended to be withdrawn from the site of implantation. The use of such a retrieval device allows the stent-graft to be removed remotely, such as via a catheter inserted into the body at a different location from the implantation site. The design of the stent-graft is such that the stent component is extended axially while the adjacent portion of the graft separates between windings of the stent component.

The oil stabilizing component includes one or both of an amphiphilic compound or a surfactant having an HLB of 13 or greater added to the aqueous phase. The oil stabilizing component is at a concentration, by weight, of about 0.01% to about 1.0%, based upon weight of the composition. The oil-in-water emulsion has an increased water load relative to water-in-oil emulsions without having an increased viscosity.

    Abstract: A buttress for use with circular surgical staplers that does not require adhesive to securely fasten the buttress to the stapler. Following cutting and stapling by the circular stapler, the buttress has an adaptive opening through its central region with a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the stapler anvil. Because of relief features built into the buttress, the stapler anvil may be pulled through the buttress material without causing permanent alteration to the buttress. These relief features may be provided regardless of whether the buttress is made of inelastic or elastic materials. The buttress is generally circular in shape with an outer diameter sized to coincide with the outer diameter of the stapler body staple compression surface and the outer diameter of the anvil compression surface of a circular stapler with which it is used. Prior to surgical use, the buttress is attached to the stapler with disruptable portions extending from outer perimetal areas of the buttress.

The scheduler (36) also assigns a frequency of the frequency bandwidth if the cell served by the base station node is a micro cell and the wireless terminal is in a center portion of the micro cell.

The CNM records an association between the VM MAC address and the virtual switch MAC address. The CNM further determines a label that associates the TORS with the virtual switch. The CNM sends a modifies flow entries in the virtual switch to indicate data packets matching the MPLS label and the VM MAC address should be forwarded to the VM.

Each standby UE session is associated with a UE device and a network resource identifier of an APN slice. The first PDN-GW transmits a message to a SGW that is servicing the UE sessions that indicates that the SGW should direct traffic previously bound for the second PDN-GW to the first PDN-GW.
