Abstract: A method and arrangement for providing information on a social rank of a first user (A) within a plurality of users (302) in a telecommunication network. A data receiver (300a) in a ranking manager (300) receives transaction data referring to communication events involving said users, and identifies a cluster of socially related users with the first user, based on the transaction data. A data analyzer (300b) in the ranking manager (300) determines relation metrics for the users in the cluster based on the transaction data. The relation metrics indicate an extent of aggregated outgoing events of the users in the cluster. A ranking calculator (300c) in the ranking manager (300) then calculates the social rank of the first user in multiple iterations based on relation metrics of aggregated outgoing events from the first user, and further based on social ranks calculated in a preceding iteration for other users in the cluster, until the social rank of the first user is stabilized.

The service access apparatus comprises: a data obtainer arranged to obtain a multilevel hierarchical identifier associated with a user of the service access apparatus and when the multilevel hierarchical identifier does not have a lower level first, reversing the multilevel hierarchical identifier; a concatenator arranged to determine a combined domain name; a domain name lookup client arranged to perform a domain name lookup using the combined domain name, and receiving a response of the domain name lookup; and a communication initiator arranged to, when the response comprises a valid resource record for the network node, initiate communication with the network node using a node pointer in the resource record. A corresponding method, computer program and computer program product are also presented.

Abstract: Protocol is provided for safe transfer of files from between nodes of a communication system. The protocol includes a handshake operation between a source (local or initiating) node sending one or more files and a remote (responding) node receiving the files to ensure that control of the file remains with the source node until the file is successfully transferred. The protocol is provided by a file transfer manager that controls the transfer process through a series of file moves that include moving the file into a directory associated with the file transfer manager, from which the file is sent and moving the file out of that directory after the remote node acknowledges a safe copy operation of the file. Files are maintained in the sending directory and under control of the source node at least for a configurable amount of time until the file is safely transferred.

Abstract: A method for isotope measurement of charged species contained in a solution to be analyzed, particularly charged species having an isobaric interference, has the following consecutive steps: a) in the capillary of a capillary electrophoresis device, the solution to be analyzed is inserted contiguously between a terminating electrolyte and a leading electrolyte that, respectively, are placed after the inlet and before the outlet of the capillary and contain ions of the same charge but with mobility inferior and superior to those of said species; b) separating the species by using the capillary electrophoresis device according to the isotachophoresis mode; then c) in the continuity of the preceding step, performing an isotope measurement of the species detected in the form of a substantially constant amplitude signal by using an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS) connected by direct coupling with the capillary electrophoresis device.

Abstract: A slice granularity representing a hierarchical level for slice boundary alignment in a picture (1) comprising at least one slice (10, 12) of coding units (20-56) is used together with coordinates of the coding units (20-56) in a slice (10, 12) to determine those coding units (30, 46A, 46B, 36) that potentially could constitute an end of a slice (10, 12). Each coding unit (30, 46A, 46B) except one of the determined coding units (30, 46A, 46B, 36) is assigned an end-of-slice flag with a first value, while the one determined coding unit (36) gets an end-of-slice flag with a second value. The end-of-slice flags are used during decoding for identifying the end of a slice (10, 12). The embodiments provide an efficient end-of-slice flag signaling by merely assigning such flags to some of the coding units (30, 46A, 46B, 36) in the picture (1), while other coding units need no associated flag.

Third and fourth codewords are determined, based on second vector components, as representations of a third and fourth component value. First N1 and second N2 resolution numbers are selected based on the relation of a distribution of the first vector components and a distribution of the second vector components. N1 additional component values are generated based on the first and second component values and N2 additional component values are generated based on the third and fourth component values. Component indices indicative of the generated component values are then provided for the different image elements.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for selecting resources for direct device to device (D2D) communications in a cellular communication network. In one embodiment, a downlink resource is selected as a resource for a direct D2D communication link between a first wireless device and a second wireless device if a base station serving each of the first and second wireless devices is equipped with an interference cancellation receiver and both the first and second wireless devices are less than a predefined threshold radio distance from their serving base station. An uplink resource is selected as a resource for the direct D2D communication link if the base station serving each of the first and second wireless devices is equipped with an interference cancellation receiver and at least one of the first and second wireless devices is more than the predefined threshold radio distance from its serving base station.

Abstract: A method and arrangement for employing media layer adaptation in a wireless communication of media in data packets from a sending node to a receiving node, by determining a fitting frame aggregation scheme in an effective and accurate manner. An arrival time AT and generation time GT are monitored for packets when received at the packet receiving node. A difference ATdiff in the arrival time of consecutive packets and a difference GTdiff in the generation time of the packets, are calculated. Then, an inter-arrival measure IA is calculated as the deviation between the arrival time difference ATdiff and generation time difference GTdiff. When the inter-arrival jitter exceeds a preset threshold (Th), a frame aggregation scheme is determined based on the calculated inter-arrival jitter IA and applied in the packet communication.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a temporary identity module to a device (1) in a communication network. An RO Server (2) receives a request for an identity module (51) from the device (1). It then obtains an identity module and generates an encryption key (S4, S5). The encryption key is partitioned into a plurality of slices such that no slice comprises the whole encryption key (S6). Each slice is sent (S8, S9) to respective further devices (10, 11) accessible by the server (2) such that no single further device (10, 11) receives sufficient slices to reconstruct the encryption key. A key location key is generated (S10) that identifies each slice and the further device (10, 11) to which each slice has been sent. The identity module is encrypted using the encryption key (S11) and sent to the device (1) along with the location key (S12). The device (1) can subsequently use the location key to obtain the slices and reconstruct the encryption key.

Abstract: A system and method for incorporating occupancy-detecting technology into furniture is provided. More particularly, the invention relates to detecting occupancy using a detection pad coupled a portion of a bed. The detection pad may include an aluminized polymer material, a metalized and/or conductive fabric, an aluminum sheet, a metal screen, an aluminum tape, a wire grid, or other metalized material or fabric. A controller determines the corresponding response based on single-occupancy or dual-occupancy detection by one or more detection pads. A processor receives information regarding changes in capacitance and determines when a change in voltage satisfies a threshold. Based on a determination of occupancy, or lack thereof, a variety of corresponding features of the adjustable bed may be activated.

Abstract: The invention is directed to eluting medical devices that enable consistent “on-demand” delivery of therapeutic agents to a vessel. The medical device of the current invention comprises an expandable member, a hydrophilic coating comprising at least one therapeutic agent about the expandable member or structural layer and an outer sheath with a variably permeable microstructure. The design and methods disclosed herein ensures that therapeutic agent delivery occurs essentially only during expansion of the expandable member, minimizing coating and/or therapeutic agent loss to the bloodstream and providing controlled delivery to the treatment site.
