Abstract: The signal processing is based on the concept of using a time-domain aliased frame as a basis for time segmentation and spectral analysis, performing segmentation in time based on the time-domain aliased frame and performing spectral analysis based on the resulting time segments. The time resolution of the overall “segmented” time-to-frequency transform can thus be changed by simply adapting the time segmentation to obtain a suitable number of time segments based on which spectral analysis is applied. The overall set of spectral coefficients, obtained for all the segments, provides a selectable time-frequency tiling of the original signal frame.

Abstract: Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards an eNodeB, and method therein, for generating downlink communications in a multiple antenna system. The method comprises transmitting, to a number of user equipments, a plurality of reference signals, where each signal is beamformed in a distinct direction within at least one correlated domain (e.g., elevation and/or azimuth). The eNodeB receives at least one CSI report from a specific user equipment and determines a primary reference signal based on, for example, the at least one CSI report. The eNodeB may thereafter generate downlink communication signals for antenna element(s) and/or subelements of the multiple antenna system. The downlink communication signals are beamformed into a transmitting direction that aligns most closely with a beamforming direction of the at least one primary reference signal, as compared to any other beamforming direction of the reference signals.

Abstract: A radio network resource controller directs a first network node associated with a first cell region, or a wireless terminal in communication through the first cell region, to measure and report radio resource-related data selected from the group consisting of: resource activity per channel; the number of transmitted power samples that exceed a threshold over a measurement period; and, channel quality samples that exceed a quality threshold. The controller then receives at least one measurement report of the radio resource-related data and, as a function of the radio resource-related data in the first cell region, dynamically reallocates the distribution of resources, such as radio-frequency channels, between the first cell region and at least a second cell region. The invention has a particular advantage in TDD mode of operation where efficient and dynamic interference mitigation is needed to combat the inherent mobile-to-mobile and base station-to-base station interference.

Abstract: A method for estimating a scrambling code used on an uplink of a WCDMA system. The scrambling code is obtained from a Gold code, sum of a first specific M-sequence of the user and of a second M-sequence known from the receiver. After sampling of the signal received at the chip frequency of the scrambling code the successive samples are subject to a differential treatment and the sequence of differential values is multiplied by the second M-sequence. The observables thereby obtained are decoded with the aid of a belief propagation iterative decoding. The decoded values then serve to determine the content of the shift register of the generator of the first M-sequence. One then deduces therefrom the Gold code and an estimation of the scrambling code, ?.
