Abstract: The invention is directed to eluting medical devices that enable consistent “on-demand” delivery of therapeutic agents to a vessel. The medical device of the current invention comprises an expandable member, a hydrophilic coating comprising at least one therapeutic agent about the expandable member or structural layer and an outer sheath with a variably permeable microstructure. The design and methods disclosed herein ensures that therapeutic agent delivery occurs essentially only during expansion of the expandable member, minimizing coating and/or therapeutic agent loss to the bloodstream and providing controlled delivery to the treatment site.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for selecting resources for direct device to device communications in a cellular communication network. Preferably, resources for the direct device to device communications are selected to minimize, or at least substantially reduce, interference that results from the direct device to device communications in the cellular communication network. In one embodiment, a downlink resource of the cellular communication network is selected as a resource for a direct device to device communication link between a first wireless device and a second wireless device if at least one of the first and second wireless devices is less than a predefined threshold radio distance from a closest base station in the cellular communication network. Otherwise, an uplink resource of the cellular communication network is selected as a resource for the direct device to device communication link between the first and second wireless devices.

  • Publication number: 20130254544
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a temporary identity module to a device (1) in a communication network. An RO Server (2) receives a request for an identity module (51) from the device (1). It then obtains an identity module and generates an encryption key (S4, S5). The encryption key is partitioned into a plurality of slices such that no slice comprises the whole encryption key (S6). Each slice is sent (S8, S9) to respective further devices (10, 11) accessible by the server (2) such that no single further device (10, 11) receives sufficient slices to reconstruct the encryption key. A key location key is generated (S10) that identifies each slice and the further device (10, 11) to which each slice has been sent. The identity module is encrypted using the encryption key (S11) and sent to the device (1) along with the location key (S12). The device (1) can subsequently use the location key to obtain the slices and reconstruct the encryption key.

  • Publication number: 20130254813
Abstract: A media playing device (3) of a local network (7) is capable of triggering a recording of broadcasted/multicasted media content on a media aggregating node (1) outside the local network. The media aggregating node is connected to a remote-media storing device (2) of the local network via a gateway (6), and retrieves a playlist of available media from media content data servers (4). The playlist is sent to the remote-media storing device, and forwarded to a browsing media playing device for display as a recording playlist comprising associations, e.g. links, to the media. A user of the media playing device selects media to record by a play-input to the media playing device, to be forwarded e.g. in an URL Request to the remote-media storing device. Then, the remote-media storing device forwards the link from the recording playlist to the media aggregating node, in order to trigger the recording.

Abstract: A system and method for incorporating occupancy-detecting technology into furniture is provided. More particularly, the invention relates to detecting occupancy using a detection pad coupled a portion of a bed. The detection pad may include an aluminized polymer material, a metalized and/or conductive fabric, an aluminum sheet, a metal screen, an aluminum tape, a wire grid, or other metalized material or fabric. A controller determines the corresponding response based on single-occupancy or dual-occupancy detection by one or more detection pads. A processor receives information regarding changes in capacitance and determines when a change in voltage satisfies a threshold. Based on a determination of occupancy, or lack thereof, a variety of corresponding features of the adjustable bed may be activated.

Abstract: A method of routing signalling plane traffic through or out of an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network. The method comprises maintaining within user profile data stored in a subscriber database of the IMS network, routing information defining signalling plane routing profiles for a user associated with the user profile data. • Patent number: 8543071
Abstract: As relates to automatic matching of antenna impedance for a radiofrequency transmit or receive circuit, an impedance matching network is inserted between an amplifier and antenna. The current i and output (resp. input) voltage V of the amplifier and their phase shift are measured, the complex impedance defined by V/i is deduced; the impedance of the antenna is calculated as a function of this complex impedance and the known existing values of the adjustable impedances of the matching network. New adjustable values of impedances of the matching network to obtain a desired overall load impedance for the amplifier are calculated on the basis of the calculated antenna impedance value, and the matching network is controlled to adjust the adjustable impedances to these new values. The measurement is made at a measurement frequency different from the working frequency to allow automatic matching without interrupting normal operation of the chain.
