Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards an autonomous topology management scheme in a wireless communications network that establishes a hierarchical structure from a peer-to-peer network without assistance from the wireless network. A group of user equipments negotiate with each other to elect a local manager that acts as a base station by which other user equipments of the group can access network resources. Described is an example voting scheme by which the negotiation process elects the local manager for a term.

Abstract: A method and system to control configuration of dual-connectivity for UEs served by a first NB. A computing system monitors the level of load on a backhaul interface through which the first NB communicates with a core network. And based on the monitored level of backhaul load, the computing system imposes a limit on establishing secondary connectivity with one or more second NBs for one or more UEs served by the first NB. For instance, when the backhaul interface through which the first NB communicates with the core network becomes threshold highly loaded with communication traffic, the computing system could responsively impose a maximum cap on the number of the first-NB-served UEs that will be provided with secondary connectivity by one or more second NBs and/or on the number of secondary connections that will be established for UEs served by the first NB.

The fastening means (3) includes a threadlike element (31). Eventually, the threadlike element (31) has a structure easy to be cut by one, two or more points (32), so that the user can cut it at will until leaving it with a minimum length. Eventually, the threadlike element (31) possesses, in the proximal area, at least, one protrusion (33) and at the distal end of the threadlike element (31) it possesses a protrusion (33). Eventually, at the upper part of the body (2) of the receptacle one or more holes (4) have been provided close to the edge of the mouthpiece (21).
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented during a pre-boot environment to authenticate a user in the basic input/output system (BIOS) of an information handling system, and to securely provision a resulting authentication token to post-boot operating system (OS) login components of the system. In addition, single sign-on user authentication may be performed during a pre-boot BIOS environment and then extended to the post-boot OS environment without requiring exchange of pins or other intermediary authentication factors between the OS and pre-boot authentication (PBA) for the user to gain access to the information handling system or other network resources.
Abstract: Devices, computer-readable media and methods are disclosed for establishing a peer-to-peer network for rerouting network traffic of a telecommunication network during a network disruption. For example, a processing system may detect a network disruption between a first device and a second device of the telecommunication network. The processing system may identify a first peering device having a connection to the first device of the telecommunication network, identify a second peering device having a connection to the second device of the telecommunication network, and establish a peer-to-peer network via at least the first peering device and the second peering device, wherein at least one of the first peering device or the second peering device is a mobile endpoint device configured to operate as a virtual network function. The processing system may then route network traffic between the first device and the second device via the peer-to-peer network.
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards providing supplemental content to a viewer based on the viewer's environment while the viewer is viewing content. Content is provided to a content receiver for presentation to the viewer. While the viewer is viewing the content, an image of the viewer's environment is captured and analyzed to detect the context of the environment. Supplemental content is selected based on this detected context and presented to the viewer, which allows the supplemental content to be tailored to the viewer. One or more additional images of the viewer's environment are captured while the viewer is viewing the supplemental content and the context of the viewer's environment emotion while the viewer is viewing the supplemental content is detected. This subsequent context is analyzed to determine if the viewer had an expected response to the supplemental content, which can be used to determine the efficiency of the supplemental content.
Abstract: A sealed sprocket for a conveyor belt comprises a sprocket mounted on a drive shaft and a seal system sealing an interface between the sprocket and the drive shaft. The seal system comprises a seal cap housing ring seals for sealing interfaces between the sprocket and seal cap and between the seal cap and drive shaft.
Abstract: Devices, computer-readable media, and methods for selecting a type of packet loss protection for a network-based communication based upon a latency estimate are disclosed. For example, a processing system including at least one processor may obtain a latency estimate for a network-based communication, determine whether the latency estimate exceeds a latency threshold for selecting a type of packet loss protection, and select, the type of packet loss protection for the network-based communication from among a first type of packet loss protection and a second type of packet loss protection based upon the determining. When the latency estimate is determined to not exceed the latency threshold, the first type of packet loss protection is selected. When the latency estimate is determined to exceed the latency threshold, the second type of packet loss protection is selected.

Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment, a fan controller operates in a standard mode when main power is provided to the power supply unit in which speed of the fan is controlled in response to a primary pulse width modulation (PWM) signal from a power controller. A loss of the main power to the power supply unit may be detected at a logic circuit, which provides a secondary PWM signal to the fan controller in response to the loss of the main power. In certain embodiments, the fan controller is operated in a power loss mode in response to the secondary PWM signal to direct the speed of the fan to a low-power consumption target speed.

Abstract: Performance issues in a service function chain having a plurality of resources and a plurality of network functions each having a network function queue are diagnosed. Each network function queue is monitored and queueing information for input packets for each of the plurality of network functions is dumped to a data store. Each resource that is under contention is identified as well as which of the network functions is a contender for the resources. A diagnosing algorithm is used to diagnose performance problems and an impact graph for each victim packet is generated. A summary of results as a list of rules is then provided.
