  • Patent number: 11041607
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for accessing luminaire mounting and/or electrical connection compartments and components are disclosed. Embodiments include a front reflective door pivotally attached to a luminaire housing with a closed position covering an opening to the mounting access compartment and an open position allowing easy user access to the mounting feature(s) in the mounting access compartment. In some embodiments the door forms an exterior surface of the lighting fixture, while in additional embodiments the luminaire's light source is mounted on the luminaire housing and not on the door. In still further embodiments the light source is located externally to the mounting access compartment so that the light source is outside the door when the door is closed. In yet further embodiments the free end of the door is adjacent the light source while the pivoting end of the door is located away from the light source.

  • Patent number: 11029001
Abstract: A lighting fixture configured to expand and collapse, and methods for expanding and collapsing a light fixture are disclosed. Embodiments of the lighting fixture include a lighting fixture with a movable section that collapses into at least one cavity in a base housing for storage and shipment, and extends from the cavity for operation. In the collapsed configuration the lighting fixture fits into a smaller container than when the lighting fixture is in the expanded configuration. In some embodiments a locking member locks the movable section into its extended position and can be retracted by a user by manually disengaging the locking member. Accessories and extenders that can be attached to the lighting fixture can be stored in the one or more cavities into which the movable section is stowed in the collapsed configuration.

  • Patent number: 11015794
Abstract: A lighting device assembly includes a heat sink, a light source attached to one end of the heat sink, an optic assembly to pivot an optic about the light source, and a housing member having a cavity in which at least a portion of the optic assembly is received and pivotally adjustable. An elastic member imparts a bias force on the optic assembly, to force an outer surface of the optic assembly against an inner surface of the housing member. The elastic member is held in a partially compressed state, to constantly impart the bias force on the optic assembly.

  • Patent number: 11005224
Abstract: An adapter for connecting an LED light fixture to the threaded, screw-in socket of an Edison lamp holder. The adapter includes lever arms that toggle between a horizontal position and an inclined position. The inclined position of the lever arms poses a small outside diameter so the adapter can be inserted into the Edison socket without catching any of the socket threads. When fully seated inside the Edison socket, the lever arms are pushed into the horizontal position. A central core translating within the shell when pushed to the top position inside the shell locks the lever arms in the horizontal position. The lever arms when locked in the horizontal position define an outsider diameter larger than the internal diameter of the Edison socket to wedge the adapter therein.

  • Publication number: 20210129142
Abstract: A microfluidic device can include a base an outer surface of which forms one or more enclosures for containing a fluidic medium. The base can include an array of individually controllable transistor structures each of which can comprise both a lateral transistor and a vertical transistor. The transistor structures can be light activated, and the lateral and vertical transistors can thus be photo transistors. Each transistor structure can be activated to create a temporary electrical connection from a region of the outer surface of the base (and thus fluidic medium in the enclosure) to a common electrical conductor. The temporary electrical connection can induce a localized electrokinetic force generally at the region, which can be sufficiently strong to move a nearby micro-object in the enclosure.
